Neuroscience and human relationships in the context of the biblical narrative, living in the path of oncoming beauty, moving from imagination to incarnation, being known, a peace beyond understanding, secure attachment—being seen, soothed, safe and secure—left brain right brain imagery, and The Soul of Desire, I this conversation Curt invites us to see beauty as we create beauty, as we become beauty because we are paying attention to Father who never leaves.
QUOTES

“Because I am primed to pay attention to danger, I don’t practice looking for beauty…”

“Unless I feel the love of God in my chest, it isn’t yet fully real to me...”
“We are the embodiment spread over the world…we are the gospel…we are so loved by God that He wants us to be His representative, we are His incarnate presence…”

"We have been invited to trade a finite perspective with an infinite eternal life revelation—Christ in us, the hope of glory—and nothing separates us from His love! In John 17, Jesus prayed that we would know this union, this oneness, just as He and the Father were one. Further, He revealed there is no darkness light won’t penetrate, no brokenness that won’t be made whole, no road He won’t join us on, no soil the Seed won’t transform, no consequence of sin that His justice won’t restore—past, present, or future..." John describes a relationship with a person, Christ. He invites us to embrace mystery so we might discover that God looks like Jesus.
QUOTES
“People are grabbing the Trinitarian Father, this gospel message…”
“I saw the connection between the church mystics and post-Azusa Street Pentecostalism, it was the presence orientation that connected these streams.”
“We’ve pulled from a lot of different streams; I could see baby Jesus in the bathwater.”
“I think there is a merger happening that we got to get a hold of, a Christological, Trinitarian theology that is contemplative in its experience and employment.”
“The biggest problem in the church is separation thinking, between you and Jesus, and between Jesus and His Father”
“This idea that the Father is turning his back on the Son, that Jesus is the whipping boy for the Father's wrath, this is preached as the gospel, an atonement theory, a twisted one at that, being preached as the gospel in the western church. Karen also shares about getting hit by a literal bus and how she grew in her understanding that her life is in God’s hands.
QUOTES
“We express our sense of ourselves and our experience through language and even before we express it, we understand it that way.”
“Language helps us interpret our experiences…what stories we tell ourselves or what we tell other people about what happened to us. It's an interpretive frame for the rest of our lives.”
Regarding the Word became flesh: “To think about words as symbols and even that idea is also a metaphor but also literal… I can’t even understand it on a literal level but the possibilities and the implications are endless and it should shape everything that we think and we do.”

Scott Crowder is a pastor, singer-songwriter, and one of Jason’s closest friends. The guys dive into their love for the church, about learning how to be present with God, ourselves, each other, and our community. Scott talks about creating church cultures that practice the fruits of the Spirit, learning to lead ourselves and others in seasons of joy and sorrow, that “success” isn’t about numbers, cool fads, or being 'front runners,' it’s discovered in community.
QUOTES
“'Success,’ in a word is, ‘presence.’ I don’t mean that in the school of ‘the glory cloud came.’ I mean, I can be present to you, as you are present to me, as we are present to this moment, as we can be present to where we live, and we are not stuck in a dream of an ideal community that we never can become.”
“When you’re present, you’re present to pain. When you’re present as a servant, as a leader, you’re present when you can do nothing for that person or they can do nothing for you.”
“How many faithful people did we (the church) overlook…faithful movements did we overlook because they didn’t bear the fruit that we thought kingdom-building looked like. They didn’t promote themselves (but) they’ve been here the whole time.”

The goodness of God but hell, atonement but hell, reformation but hell, scripture but hell, Calvinism but hell; in this podcast Peter Hiett describes hell as “Satan's big but.”
In this conversation Peter walks us through the story of our own creation, the goodness of God’s reconciling love, the relational kindness of a God who encounters, sets free and transforms.
Peter describes a God who delights in His creation, a God destroys what is evil, creates what is good, and invites us to observe our own creation in Christ Jesus.
QUOTES
Regarding relentless love and hell “At that point I was simply saying I want to hope this is true. And they said, “you can hope it, but you can’t believe it’s possible.”
“Knowledge of evil is believing I have to justify myself.”
“It's really not very complicated at all. If you take out the middle point of (Calvinism’s) limited atonement, you're left with a beautiful picture of this God who is raising his children and creating them in His image and He does it through His atonement and His atonement won't fail…”
“When you announce good news, you don’t say, “Now this is what you need to do about it, you just tell people, and the news changes folks.”
"But if you’re a part of the institution, you want people to give to the budget, you want them to go on the church retreat, you want them to come help pull weeds in the garden. So, you’re always tempted to say, “believe this or…something.” Well, hell is a huge “or something.”
“The good news, the Word, it carries the power within itself, you don’t need to con anyone into obedience.”
“His goodness is beyond anything we’ve understood.”
"Regarding Romans 5 “As in Adam all die, so in Christ, all will be made alive, and it’s the best most beautiful news.”
“That sloppy universalism that just says ‘Oh God feels great about everybody and it doesn’t matter what you do.” It leaves everybody feeling empty because we all know something is really wrong with humanity and really wrong with me and my neighbor. I think scripture reveals that, yeah, were half made, were not finished yet. God is gonna destroy what is evil and create what’s good and you’re observing your own creation in Christ Jesus. And in the end, absolutely everything is a gift of your Father and you can’t even begin to comprehend how much He delights in you.”

QUOTES

"If you’re believing in a little stick figure Jesus that you walk on to get to the real God, you're not believing in the real Jesus, you're believing in something we manufactured to build our empires."
"Still, today you'll hear people say ‘Well God is love but God is fear,’ which comes from our Greek dualism… the reality is God is not two conflicting things. We invented conflict, God is not in conflict.”

Ultimately, the guys kick off season three embracing Rom 8:38-29 “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

“The bible, minus love, equals false teaching, false living, and fosters an anger in the soul of man.” Brian Simmons, author of The Passion Translation, talks about approaching scripture with a love theology, the oppressive impact of hyper literalism, women in ministry, equality, union, Jesus’ humanity inside the Trinity, the finished work of the cross, and the passionate, powerful, transforming love of God.
QUOTES
“Pauline theology will get perverted if you don’t start at the song of songs. I’m convinced that Paul got most of his doctrinal teachings from encounters with the Lord and from an open bible with Song of Songs.”
“It’s just error to hyper literalize the song of songs, it’s a beautiful symphony of love… it’s a book that literally starts with a kiss”
“We have forgotten that Jesus Christ is a human being, that inside the Trinity is a man…and this human nature of Jesus is mingled with the divine…”
“A human being can be moved with feelings and passions… Jesus is every bit a man, inside the trinity. The universe is ruled by the passions of a man.”
“How we hear is every bit as important as what we are reading.”
“This love theology is the key to the great harvest of the nations.”
“God has to love you to be God. It’s almost like He wouldn’t be God if He didn’t love you intensely, powerfully.”
“To dishonor women and to say they can’t minister…goes counter to the heart of God.”
“You said earlier you’re a relational theologian, that’s exactly how we need to interpret scripture.”
“You literally have to have a love lens on your heart to read scripture, then you’ll read it the way God has written it for us.”
“The bible, minus love, equals false teaching, false living, and fosters an anger in the soul of man.”
“He that is joined to the Lord is one spirit (1 Cor 6:17), so the union is complete. When He said it’s finished it's not only the work of the cross but it’s the perfected union that He has given us.”
“Nothing can separate us, not things present or things future, He doesn’t even mention the past because we don’t have a past. Our past ended with three nails; we only have a destiny, not a history.”

Jarred grew up Baptist with loving parents. But much of his thoughts about his faith were filtered through a retributive God lens. So Jarred was faced with the intellectual disparity of a good God who would send people to hell to prove His love.
But years ago, Jarred walked away from that fractured faith and discovered the simple gospel, God is like Jesus. This has led to great freedom, transformation, and the realization that when the gospel is the love of God we can change the world.

John Mark talks enneagram, songwriting, his latest record, Peopled with Dreams, and shares about a vulnerable joy he has discovered as he enters his 40’s. “Gratitude is the practice of seeing the world correctly” and John Mark shares how He rediscovered Jesus in the last several years and in so doing rediscovered his faith. He referred to this new record as a “walk back into faith” and it applies to himself but also is an invitation for all who listen to rediscover faith.
Regarding the new record, John Mark said, “I am building bridges between my friends who are atheists, my friends who are fundamentalists, my friends who consider themselves progressive or any end of the spectrum. Because gratitude is the one place we all come together.”
“You can’t be in gratitude and have a long term poor disposition towards the people who bear the image of the thing you are having this gratitude for.”

Evangelism has been relegated to getting people to come to church. But it’s way better than that.
Bill spoke about this pandemic and how believers can powerfully navigate fear.

In this interview, Francois talks about our Father's great affection, inclusion, grace, intimacy, ministry, and the unveiled revelation of love! The entire cosmos is the object of God’s affection! And he is not about to abandon his creation – the gift of his son is for humanity to realize their origin in him who mirrors their authentic birth – begotten not of flesh but of the Father! In this persuasion, the life of the ages echoes within the individual and announces that the days of regret and sense of lost-ness are over!

“It’s not about the quantity of faith but the placement of faith. In John 17 Jesus prayed that we would believe that our Father loved us as much as our Father loved Him. If we put our faith in anything, let’s put it in Jesus’ prayer being answered.”

Karen shared that ultimately knowing the goodness of God is the foundation of navigating fear healthily; perfect love casts out fear.
Thomas, Jason, and Karen talk about some of the fear-mongering theologies that are running rampant online. When we understand who God is we understand that God didn’t send Covid19. God is not the instigator of death, He came to give us life and life more abundantly.
Finally, they discussed how God is a good Father who is available to us now in the midst of our fear. A Father who weeps with us while also lifting us up so we can see our circumstances the way He does and live in peace.

What if control is a flawed word to describe God’s sovereignty? What if there is an infinitely better word, a greater revelation, love!
Jason and Thomas discuss the sovereignty of God and focus on Jason’s book, God Is Not In Control. God’s love is what defines His sovereignty. And God’s love is revealed through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus.
The idea’s that God is in control and God is good are often two opposing thoughts.
When we realize that God’s supreme power and authority are love…everything changes for the better.
