"Nothing is far from God"
Have you ever heard the quote "You have made us for yourself, O Lord, and our heart is restless until it rests in you."? Or what about "To fall in love with God is the greatest romance; to seek Him, the greatest adventure and to find Him, the greatest human achievement"? These beautiful quotes are from the incredible Saint, Augustine of Hippo. And before he was a saint, Augustine was nothing short of a ruffian and rebel. It was only by the grace of God that he went on to become saint and doctor of the church! And we will tell his story...but! Not yet. First, we have to start with the story of the one that prayed Augustine into the arms of God, the woman who wept and fought for his holiness: Augustine's mother, Saint Monica.

"So faith, hope and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love."
-1 Corinthians 13:13
Little beyond legend is known of the patron of the greatest theological virtues: love. Saint Valentine has a secular "Hallmark" holiday in his honor, but in today's inspirational episode, his life as a Roman of heroic devotion is given depth and meaning. It is no stretch to claim that family as it was ordained by God is threatened at every turn in our modern culture. Listen to hear how Saint Valentine challenged a great threat to the love and strength of the family so very long ago. This Valentine's Day, embark with us into the history of the catacombs, squirm under the accusations of an evil emperor, and witness the painful beauty of sacrificial love!

Today we get to pick up right where we left off with our beloved heroine, Joan. We’ve heard how Joan held steady in faith despite a storm of disbelief in her very home, and this week, that faith will endure a treacherous winter journey and help her stand tall through a battle of Narnian excitement and tremendous consequence. You won’t want to miss this epic tale of a king in disguise, a girl on a mission from God, and her glorious triumph for Him!
PSA for parents of children with little ears! We wanted to honor Saint Joan of Arc by keeping this true to her story. There is an epic and intense battle scene and we explain that Joan died a martyr by being burned at the stake.

We are so glad you are back to hear the second chapter of the tale of Saint Nicholas! This episode, we unpack the beloved story of how the Bishop of Myra sacrificed his own fortune to save three young girls from the blight of poverty. We couldn't help but set this scene in a Christmas-y light and hope you enjoy reveling in songs of glad tidings and snowy, joyful expectation of the Christ Child with us!
*Important Note to Parents*
We did our best to be mindful of different families' teachings and traditions at Christmastime. Our presentation of Saint Nicholas is true to his legacy of virtue and holiness and he remains a distinct figure from any in today's secular representations. That being said, one character in our version of this story, named 'Kris Kringle,' does allude to the idea of a modern 'Santa Claus' but is never called so by name. By avoiding any explicit reference, we hope this telling can appeal to families over a range of practices this season. Above all, our aim was to encourage children to model the very real Saints of our Church and conform their lives to Christ; we hope that this message over any other shines brightest in this production!
