In terms of online chatter, this movie hardly seems to exist now. Let's change that a little if we can.
Have you ever dreamt of a better version of yourself? Younger, more beautiful, more perfect. One single injection unlocks your DNA, starting a new cellular division, that will release another version of yourself. This is the Substance. You are the matrix. Everything comes from you. Everything is you. This is simply a better version of yourself. You just have to share. One week for one and one week for the other. A perfect balance of seven days each. The one and only thing not to forget: You. Are. One. You can't escape from yourself.

Some horror movies, like THE THING, are great. Some horror movies, like FEARDOTCOM, are terrible. Some horror movie, like MANOS THE HANDS OF FATE, are so bad they're good. But SOME horror movies aren't that good but DO SOMETHING SO INTERESTING that they shouldn't be ignored. On this episode we're going to talk about 4 bad horror movies that do interesting things. One of these movies proves how important it is to get the NAME of your horror villain right. One of these might be the greatest horror movie CAST to ever make a terrible film. One of these will show the supreme strength of a horror sub-genre, and one of these is an incredible take on what might be the MOST IMPORTANT theme in horror circa 2023 (even if the movie itself is a hot mess in a lot of places). Let's talk about it!

I was wrong. The best horror movie of 2019 was a film I HATED when I saw it in the theater, but this damn movie won't leave me alone. I must be my own worst enemy. Is it Brightburn? Is it Crawl? We asked a half a million horror fans what scary moment from a movie stuck with or haunted them, and we got tens of thousands of great answers. A lot of them were not surprising though - the kitchen scene in The Strangers, Freddy's long arms in Elm Street, the underwater body in Jaws, etc., But ONE movie that isn't discussed that much anymore got thousands of votes, and the comments were... a little dark. Like this movie traumatized me vibes. Really took us by surprise, so we wanted to record an episode and talk about it!
