Greetings, all!
Our release of the premiere of season 5 has been getting pushed back, so I'm giving a bit of an update as to what's going on and when you can expect the upcoming season premiere.
Thanks for your patience!
Dice Tower Theatre presents Dawn of Dragons. A clean, family-friendly, fantasy epic with a setting both unique and familiar to those that enjoy escaping into the classic worlds of Tolkien, CS Lewis, Rothfuss and Martin. Worlds where magic and dragons battle with relatable heroes. Heroes that also at times must battle even those challenges that lie within their own hearts.
Raised by former knights in hiding, they have grown up taking on different skills, each one unique and valuable to each other. Young Cordelia the fire mage, aspiring knight Benedict, bright-eyed mariner Zorin and the deadly swordmaster Sophie are not only bonded by use of magic or mastery of a sword, they are also tied to a great destiny - a destiny foretold in lost tomes they have yet to discover.
But first their world is one now cloaked in a great shadow that is spreading like a sickness which they seek to overcome.
In this scene our heroes are locked in the defense of the celestine tower, an ancient castle watching over the vast plain of the great valley. They are under siege by dragons and other dark forces of an invading army. While some of our heros are exploring its ancient halls above looking for assistance we begin by joining young benedict, to stand by his side on the battlefield.
Originally created simply to record the events of a collaborative roleplaying game, Dice Tower Theatre has now grown to a production including over 80 voice actors, original scoring and sound design by the game master himself, resulting in hours of quality entertainment. Many of the echoes of life’s struggles came out organically at the table between the players as friends and were captured in the story. Those struggles come with lessons, and overall those lessons are to be a better person, both to those around them as well as to themselves. You can listen to Dice Tower Theatre at https://dicetowertheatre.com or wherever you listen to your favorite podcasts.
This is a show about love, death, and robots. No, not the Netflix show. This is a totally different kind of story.
Hannahpocalypse is a forth wall breaking serial comedy/horror audio drama that follows the last zombie, Hannah; who’s ‘living’ her best life over 100 years after the zombie apocalypse has come and gone. All the while Cali, a scout for a thriving settlement, looks to make a mark on the world but is coming up bust. Destined to collide, zombie and human will be forced into an unlikely friendship amid a wasteland full of unfriendly robots left over from the ‘bad old days’. It’s a story of friendship, love, robots and a girl who eats people.
As you might have guessed, this isn’t your regular zombie show, if one at all despite the unliving status of it’s main character. Perhaps surprisingly, flicking the tuner to this show will introduce an offbeat, queer, comedy/horror story dares to tackle a spectrum of themes ranging from feelings of existential loneliness all the way to finding the kind of love that crosses the boundaries of communication. It swings with abandon between light and quirky observational gags to incredibly vulnerable scenes of heartache and hope that’ll be sure to have you experiencing a full range of emotions within a fifteen or so minute episode. Starring Amanda Hufford as Hannah and Abigail Turner as Cali, the show is also propelled forward by powerful supporting performances from Jordan Rudolph, Tom Schulk, Will Handford and Ryan Hoyle (among others!). If you’re looking for a show with incredibly strong character development, a little bit of hope and maybe a laugh or two, try giving Hannahpocalypse a spot in your podcast rotation.
You can listen to Hannahpocalypse at https://cybernauticapod.com/hannahpocalypse or wherever you listen to your favorite podcasts.
What Will Be Here is a sci-fi audio drama about living on a doomed earth and building things anyway. In it, five friends send a rocket to space with a collection of recordings on it, documenting the world’s decline, their experiences living on a doomed earth, the stories they want to tell, and their efforts in building a rocket to get this message to the stars. They wonder what their world will have become by the time their message is listened to. What will be left of a planet that has destroyed itself? What will be left of the people who lived there? What will become of their stories? What will be here?
At its core, this show is about living and creating when things feel pointless. It's a story that came out of the pandemic, and the landscape in which this story was written and produced greatly influenced how it turned out. What Will Be Here? is set on earth 200 years in the future, where large-scale crises are fully normalized. But despite the bleak backdrop, this story is one of hope - of overcoming challenges, of making things that might be temporary, but also things that might be launched into space and continue on forever. The experience of the characters in What Will Be Here? mirrors the experience of the cast and crew; both creating something new against a background of tragedy, and neither knowing quite where it will end up.
You can listen to What Will Be Here at whatwillbehere.crd.co or wherever you listen to your favorite podcasts.
They thought they were searching for a missing girl. But amateur adventurers Gwen, Tobias, and Quentin must darken many dangerous doorways to unravel a deeper mystery--and some doors cannot be closed once opened. From the producers of Girl in Space comes Omen, a fantasy audio drama featuring spellcraft, swashbuckling, and more than a few sinister secrets.
Omen is a new fantasy audio drama from Executive Producer Sarah Rhea Werner, creator of the award-winning sci-fi audio drama Girl in Space. Omen features positive, relationship-driven storytelling about found family, pirates, and rampaging demons delivered through inclusive and relatable dialogue without relying too heavily on high fantasy tropes. The show’s tone is exciting, perilous, friendly, and smarmy—all brought to life by a diverse cast of phenomenal voice actors.
You can listen to Omen at www.omencast.com or wherever you listen to your favorite podcasts.

For our final discussion before the premiere of Season 3 we have a conversation with the immensely talented Lee Shackleford, creator of Relativity podcast.
We discuss the ins and outs of creativity, hosting a podcast, listener engagement, and interesting comparisons of our respective creations. A very insightful discussion offered by one of my favorite creators. Give a an ear! Lee's show is a must listen. Check it out at https://relativitypodcast.com and be sure to follow him on Twitter @relativitypod .
For this discussion I had the absolute pleasure of speaking with the inimitable Shannon Perry, creator and producer of the hilariously whimsical sci-fi comedy OZ-9. The show is a delightful British style audio-comedy featuring the Ninecompoops, a cast of inept characters commandeering (if you can call it that) a colony ship of wealthy aristocrats in stasis, trying their best to keep them and themselves alive. Well, maybe not their best...
Shannon was kind enough to join me and ask some very interesting and insightful questions about the show. Give it a listen... much fun was had by the two of us! Definitely give her show a listen! You can find them at oz-9.com and on Twitter @Oz9podcast (each of the crew have Twitter accounts and often Tweet in character so be sure to follow them too!)
Our Ninth World discussions continue into the 'tween season break and this time I have the honor of visiting with the great and powerful Raymond "Rukland" Morse. He is the host of the delightful podcast 5 and 30 with Ruk as well as one of the greatest influencers in the independent podcast community, especially (but not exclusively) audio dramas. Come lend your ears to a wonderful conversation with one of our finest supporters, then follow him on Twitter @The_Real_Ruk
We bring you another delightful 'tween season discussion, this time with Zann Campbell-Johannes, producer, host, and GM of Imprinted Echoes, a fantastic Numenera Actual Play podcast. Their show is a wonderful example of great storytelling in an AP format. You can find the show on Podchaser or any of your favorite podcatchers and you can follow them and the show on Twitter @coverednsawdust and @ImprintedEchoes respectively.
We bring you another fun and wonderful conversation, this time with the delightful Corey Pfautsch! One of the mods of the CastJunkies Discord server, Corey comes to us as a superfan of many podcasts and is proving to be (intended or not) a wonderful influencer to have in your corner, especially as one of the most kind and genuine people I know.
Follow him on Twitter at @CoreyPfautsch88 and on Podchaser to catch his steadily growing Corey's Can't Miss Podcasts list.
Welcome to another edition of A Ninth World Discussion! This time I had the pleasure of talking Ninth World Journal talk with Alix Young-Jui, one of the cohosts of the true horror podcast (that's how I refer to it) Pomegranates and Pitchforks.
Check out their show here at https://pompitchpod.podbean.com/
Greetings everyone and welcome to the first edition of A Ninth World Discussion!

For our second summer bonus episode I sit down with Kyle Decker (though to be honest I don't know if he was sitting down), GM and host of Quest Friends, a delightful Numenera Actual Play podcast. Kyle presents me great questions provided by himself, Tina Daniels, Podcast Reviews Reviews Podcast, Steven LaFond, Dylan (Bardic Geek) and Tavius of Spooning in the Apocalypse audiodrama. We unpack some of those answers, chew the fat on some behind-the-scenes aspects of the show and the story, and do a bit of character building. An hour packed full of great conversation!
