Using a shared map, players then spread their trading posts (also shared) throughout the African continent in order to earn the most money. Also this episode: the boys get really, really into Toto; Cam talks about his rebellious days attending a Cascada show in Texas; Rob pokes holes in Home Alone.

Five different species must all coexist in five unique landscapes to score as many points as possible. Board Boys Cam and Josh recently headed to Nebraska City, NE for ATBCon2020. The con was a blast and provided a unique opportunity for the boys to preview the upcoming KS game, For Glory. The two-player deck builder pits rival gladiator schools against each other - providing unique decisions as players build up their schools; their reputation; and their gladiators before ultimately sending them to battle. We don't normally preview KS games but For Glory was too good to not discuss. Look for it on Feb 4th!

The boys built their raiding parties, presented their offerings and battled for glory in this Viking-inspired worker placement game. The boys fought for their lives (in space) this week in Nemesis from Awaken Realms. This semi-cooperative horror, survival, exploration game could easily be described as "Alien the board game" but there is so much more to it than that. Relationships were tested, friends became enemies, enemies became friends, and Rob threw a Molotov at Campbell. Also this episode: Josh is back and talks a bit about his Cardboard Caucus experience, Ben and Rob play more games and Campbell has a Molotov thrown at him.

Travel Scrabble Ben was stuck in time and space this week so the boys asked The Dealt Hand to join their adventure as they battled cultists and solved mysteries around the world. Within the charming valley of Everdell, a civilization of forest critters is thriving and expanding. Also, frog ambassadors from the land of Pearlbrook are hella dope. This week we ventured outside the BGG Top 100 for a stroll through the forest in Everdell. Tableaus were built, resources were collected and critters were acquired in this worker placement/resource management/set collection (kinda) eurogame. We took an actual field trip this episode to Reiman Gardens in Ames, IA to celebrate the launch of their summer event 'Nature of the Game'. Besides playing life-sized checkers, chess and connect four on the lawn, we also got in plays of our favorite garden games, Photosynthesis and Arboretum. Also this episode we sit down with volunteer coordinator, Taylor Woodcock, to learn a bit more about the event, its inspiration and the awesome activations planned throughout the year. With guest, David, the Board Boys battled for glory in this game of woodland might and right. The boys time traveled to the 1920s in this week's episode, in T.I.M.E Stories by Space Cowboy Games. Joined by the fifth official Board Boy, 'our buddy Rob', the boys traveled through time and space to uncover the mysteries hidden in a 1920s insane asylum. The boys also discuss their recent trip to Gen Con, discussing highlights from the trip and games that got them most jazzed for the future. Rob also talks through his approach for the ultimate game, deciding which game to bring to a board game night.
The Board Boys made their alliances, defended the Wall and battled for control of the Iron Throne this week in Games of Thrones (Second Edition). The boys, and their guest Jason, took on the roles of Houses Stark, Lannister, Greyjoy aka 'Joy Boys' and Baratheon as they battled, backstabbed and bribed their way to victory. In addition in discussing GoT the boys also discuss Josh's recent trip to San Diego Comic Con, what they've been getting to the table recently and where you can meet Josh and Cam at Gen Con!
Josh decided to go on "vacation" this week attending the annual comic book convention in San Diego, but that isn't going to stop the Board Boys from dropping a new bonus episode! Board Boys Cam and Frank finally got to play Campbell's current favorite game, Sidereal Confluence, with help from three of their dearest friends. Have you ever gazed at the stars and thought "Man, outer space would be the coolest setting for an Opera ... wait, a SPACE Opera." TBBP definitely have and so has Fantasy Flight Games. This week the boys tackled the galactic, universe-sized board game that is Twilight Imperium 4th Ed. The game is huge, the game is long and the game definitely did not disappoint. Joined by their good friend, Terry Tyler Crooks, the boys explored and conquered the farthest reaches of the galaxy in this week's episode.
Sometimes you play a game correctly and have a great time. Sometimes you play a game really, REALLY incorrectly and it ruins the experience. Luckily time travel exists and allows the Board Boys to correct the mistakes made during their Le Havre games. The Board Boys took a nice vacation this week heading across the pond in Ticket to Ride Europe. From the craggy hillsides of Edinburgh to the sunlit docks of Constantinople, the boys saw it all; laying track and pounding cold ones along the way with help from Des Moines area photographer, Dani Reed. During their travels the boys also recommend some of their favorite 'gateway' games and the toys they loved growing up! Show of hands, who else owned a balancing eagle?
The Board Boys got their beignets, black magic (aka vampires and voodoo) and board games on this week in Orléans by Tasty Minstrel Games.

The boys also learn about the joys of owning a Mini-Juliana pig (spoiler - they're adorable) and how Mega Chomp (your new favorite superhero) continuously saves Cinderella, the Three Little Pigs, Snow White and many more of your favorite childhood characters.
