This is the final episode of Season 1 of In The Vet's Office with Dr. Josie and it's all about puppies! In this week’s Case of the Week segment, Dr. Josie shares a story about a puppy who was born with a rare condition where it was born with both female and male parts, so she details her treatment plan.  Caroline Hobby, podcast host of Get Real with Caroline Hobby, joins the podcast with her 3-month-old puppy, Ruby, to ask all of the questions as if she's at her first vet appointment with her new puppy. Dr. Josie shares advice on potty training, how much to feed your puppy, the importance of crate training, and so much more. Dr. Josie wraps up the episode with PAW & ORDER where she details things she’d never do with a puppy, including going to the dog park and feeding them adult dog food. In this episode of In The Vet’s Office, Dr. Isabella Stepanovic, a veterinarian friend of Dr. Josie joins the podcast with her Goldendoodle named Monkey. Dr. Isabella takes over this week’s Case of the Week segment, summarizing many crazy things she has seen in practice at her ER Vet clinic, including a dog with severe burns that had fallen out of the bed of its owner’s truck and had unfortunately been dragged behind the vehicle. Dr. Josie & Dr. Isabella take listener calls and give their feedback on how often to bathe your pets and explain reverse sneezing and whether it is cause for concern. They discuss in depth which vaccines your pet should definitely receive (like rabies, distemper/parvo) and which vaccines are more circumstantial. Dr. Isabella shares a story of a dog that came into her office having seizures, which is normal for her to see, but the dog didn’t respond to meds and passed away. It turned out that the dog was infected with rabies and everyone that had been in contact with the animal had to go through intense rabies treatment. They discuss zoonotic illnesses - meaning diseases that animals can pass to humans, like rabies, if they are not properly vaccinated. Dr. Josie & Dr. Isabella touch on the importance of flea, tick and heart worm treatment and dispute the myth that garlic is a home remedy for tick prevention. They wrap up the episode with PAW & ORDER where Dr. Josie details things she’d never do with her own pets including declawing cats. She and Dr. Isabella talk through how intense that procedure is and the complications that can come from it.

We look back on all of Toby Keith’s appearances over the years on the Bobby Bones Show. The singer-songwriter passed peacefully on Monday night, his family shared in a statement posted on social media. Keith was diagnosed with stomach cancer in the fall of 2021. He was 62 years old. Bobby saw Jelly Roll earlier this week at the Opry and wanted to revisit his original interview. He came by in May 2022 to share his life. Jelly Roll has a very inspiring story that he loves to share in hopes of connecting with people. He comes from a middle lower class community where he was the youngest child of 4. His dad was a meat salesman for his own family company called DeFord Wholesale Meats, and his mom struggled with addiction and mental health. He spent about 12 years in and out of the jail system until he had an awakening moment sitting in his jail cell. A guard knocked on his cell door to tell him that he had a daughter. The lead singer of Counting Crows, Adam Duritz (@CountingCrows) talked to Bobby about how he discovered he was a good singer and started a band at 13 but didn't write his first song until he was a freshman in college. Fresh off the heels of his first number one song, "Wild As Her," rising country star, Corey Kent (@CoreyKent), talks to Bobby about his winding road to success in the music industry. When the pandemic started and live music stopped, Corey started working at a pavement company to make money and support his wife and kids. Sunny Sweeney stopped by Bobby's house to talk about her journey as a singer songwriter coming from Texas and trying to make it in Nashville. Martina McBride (@MartinaMcBride) recently stopped by Bobby's house to discuss her over 30-year career of being one of country music's most powerful voices, how she got her start, her passion for cooking, the secret to her 35 year marriage and explains the joke Loretta Lynn made inducting her into The Opry. Martina moved to Nashville in1990 to pursue a career in music, and since then has gotten 20 Top Ten hits and 6 number-one songs, won four CMA Female Vocalist of The Year Awards and three ACM Top Female Vocalist honors. But, success didn't always come easy.

She shares how she called around to radio stations to fight for her song "Independence Day '' and how she received resistance for it. She also shares what it was like coming from a small town in Kansas with only a population of 200, to moving to Nashville and performing in front of thousands of fans. Martina also talks about her love for cooking and what led to her releasing multiple cookbooks and reveals the secret to her 35 year marriage. She also discusses the moment Loretta Lynn inducted her into The Opry and the joke she made backstage.

Chase moved to Nashville in 2010 and almost immediately found success when he co-wrote Florida Georgia Line's hit song "Cruise." Luke Combs turns 33 today! We want to take a look back at when he stopped by the BobbyCast back in 2020. Luke was fresh off of his SNL debut when we sat down to record this. He talks about finding out he was the musical guest just a week and a half out. Hailey moved from a small town in Iowa to Nashville 15 years ago to pursue a career in country music but kept facing struggles. Chris Shiflett just released a new solo song “Black Top White Lines” which he recorded in Nashville and stopped by Bobby’s house while he was in town to play the Ryman as a solo artist. Chis joined the Foo Fighters as lead guitarist in 1999. He talks about how he first joined the band, the dynamic between the band in the studio and the largest crowd they’ve ever performed in front of. Chris shares how he got started playing guitar, his days playing in punk bands such as No Use for a Name, touring with the Foo Fighters, and how he got started with his solo career and writing and recording music in Nashville. Lesly Simon is the General Manager of Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood's record labels, Pearl Records and Gwendolyn Records. She has over 25 years’ experience in the music industry that include jobs from assistant to radio promotions. She talks about her rise in the music ranks in Nashville that lead her to getting the job on Garth and Trisha’s record labels. Lesly shares that in June 2017 she was diagnosed with breast cancer just shortly after getting that new job. She talks about how she has stayed positive even after being told her cancer has returned.

Martha Earls has been Kane Brown’s manager since he was just an artist posting covers on Facebook. This was long before signing his first record deal. In addition to Kane Brown she also works with Restless Road, Nightly, Dylan Schneider and Feather. Martha talks about how she got started in music as the office receptionist at a publishing company in Nashville. She describes the road she took to get to managing her first artist that led her to founding her own management company.

Nathan Chapman is a three time Grammy award winning producer. He is known primarily for working with Taylor Swift, having co-produced with Swift for her albums Taylor Swift, Fearless, Speak Now, Red and 1989. He’s also a songwriter and solo artist. Bobby and Nathan talk about his approach to working with an artist and what his role is as the producer on a project. Nathan shares the story about meeting a teenage Taylor Swift before she even had a record deal and recording demos in a shack that went on to be her debut album.
