109// The Day Love Won: Jesus’ Sacrifice on the Cross: Mark 15
In this episode, we reflect on the powerful and emotional story of Jesus’ crucifixion. Mark 15 takes us through the events leading up to Jesus’ death on the cross, including His suffering, mockery, and sacrifice. Even in the face of pain, Jesus chose to obey God’s plan for salvation. This episode reminds us that Jesus’ love for us is so deep that He willingly gave His life to forgive our sins and restore our relationship with God.
Key Points for Kids:
- Jesus suffered greatly to take away our sins and give us new life.
- Even though people mocked and hurt Jesus, He chose to love and forgive.
- Jesus’ death on the cross shows us how much He loves us and how powerful God’s plan is.
- The temple curtain tearing symbolizes that we can now have a close relationship with God.
- Because of Jesus, we can live with hope, knowing that sin and death do not have the final say.
Memory Verse:
“You were dead because of your sins…then God made you alive with Christ, for He forgave all our sins.” —Colossians 2:13-14 (NLT, paraphrased)

Jesus praises her act of love and sacrifice, teaching us about the importance of giving from the heart. This story reminds us that God values the intention behind our gifts more than the size or cost.
Key Points for Kids:
• Jesus values acts of love and sacrifice, no matter how small they may seem.
• True worship comes from a heart that gives joyfully and sincerely.

105// Trusting Jesus No Matter What: Mark 13:1-8
In today’s episode, we’re talking about how Jesus told His disciples to stay ready for anything! Life can be unpredictable, with challenges and surprises, just like the wars, disasters, and tricky people Jesus warned about. But no matter what happens, we can always trust God’s promises and hold on to the truth in His Word. Find out how you can stay alert and keep your heart focused on Jesus, knowing that He’ll always be with you.
Key Points for Kids:
• Jesus tells us to stay alert: Life can be hard, and not everything we hear is true. But Jesus is the real truth, and He helps us know what to believe.
• Things may change, but God doesn’t: Even when the world feels confusing or scary, God’s promises never change. We can trust Him no matter what!
• Stay ready by trusting Jesus: Staying “awake” spiritually means we pray, read God’s Word, and keep loving others.
Memory Verse:
Mark 13:8 - “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places, and famines. These are the beginning of birth pains.”

104// How to Be a Super Giver (Even Without a Lot of Money) Mark: 12:41-44
In today’s episode, we dive into the story of the widow’s offering from Mark 12:41-44. Jesus noticed a poor woman who gave just two small coins—and He said her gift was the greatest of all! We’ll discover what made her gift so special and learn that God cares more about our hearts than how much we give. You’ll find out that we can give to God in lots of ways—not just with money, but by offering our time, talents, and love. Let’s explore how we can trust God, just like the widow did, and give Him our very best!
Key Points (for Ages 6-12):
• The widow gave two coins, which was all she had.
• Jesus said her gift was the greatest because she gave with her whole heart.
• God doesn’t care about how much we give—He cares about our love and trust.
• We can give to God by praying, helping others, and sharing what we have.
• When we trust God with everything, He promises to take care of us.

73// Preparing for Jesus: Mark 1:1-8
During Bible times, God used messengers to spread His word since they didn't have TVs, computers, or newspapers. One of these messengers was John the Baptist, who prepared the way for Jesus by baptizing people and calling them to repent. John brought the good news that the Messiah was coming, and he always pointed back to Jesus. Just like John, we have the job of telling others about Jesus and helping them prepare for His coming. We can trust that God always keeps His promises.

70// Jesus Gives His Friends (And Us!) A Very Important Job: A Kids Daily Devotional, Kids Bible Study
Do you like to receive mail? I love going to pick up mail from the mailbox and seeing what's inside, especially around the Christmas time of year when things might be presents or gifts. But the mail also carries important information, bills and news for us. What do you think what happened if the mail carriers decided that they just didn't want to do their jobs anymore? We might miss out on something that we really needed to know.
Well, just like mail carriers, we have an essential job, too. We’re supposed to spread the good news of the gospel to our friends, neighbors and communities. That job is the Great Commission, and today as we wrap up the book of Matthew, we’ll talk about what the Great Commission means for us today.

If we want to be a follower of Jesus, we have to do what Jesus tells us to do. Even if it's hard, like giving up our nice things, like our money. 51// How Do I Know If I’ve Really Forgiven Someone?
Most of us know how to say sorry - and I’ve bet we’ve all practiced saying it! And for little slights and hurts, it’s easy to say, “I forgive you.” But how do we forgive when the hurts are bigger - when we’ve done something that has really upset someone, or a friend or family member hurts us with their actions, attitudes or words? How can we forgive, and how can we know that we’ve really forgiven someone? Well, we’re going to talk about all of that in today’s episode. Let’s hear what Jesus has to say about forgiveness as we study Matthew 18, and think through how we can cultivate a heart that is primed to forgive as Jesus has forgiven us.

Hey friends, welcome to the Hearing Jesus for Kids Podcast!
Do you ever feel like you want to know more about the Bible, but that it’s kind of hard to understand? Do you want to share your faith with your friends, but have a hard time figuring out how to do that? Do you want to learn how to connect the Bible to your real life? Well then this is the show for you.
My name is Rachael, and I am your host. I have been a Children’s Pastor for a long time, and one of my favorite things is helping kids learn how to understand the Bible. I think that sometimes people think that the Bible is just for adults, but God actually really wants kids to know about Him. So on this podcast, we are going to learn all about God’s Big Story and how he shows Himself to us through the Bible. As we learn together what the stories in the Bible mean, we can learn how to live out our faith in our everyday life.
