Join Luke Westaway and Andy Farrant as they talk about cinema’s greatest achievement: Disney Channel Original Movies. From X-TREME rollerblading, to Mermen, to homicidal smart homes, there’s something for everyone in these brilliant, baffling films. Also, usually the mom character in the film is unable to cook, and this is considered richly comic. Hence the name.
The podcast Mom Can’t Cook! A DCOM Podcast is created by Luke Westaway & Andy Farrant. The podcast and the artwork on this page are embedded on this page using the public podcast feed (RSS).
The title of this week's DCOM, Camp Rock, is misleading, because while it does take place at a camp, the only rocking taking place is the rocking back and forth by harrowed students who can't face another day of impromptu unaccompanied singing, people drumming on every available surface, and hip hop dance classes taught by Joe Jonas.
Apparently though, there are people who actually want to attend Camp Rock, on purpose, people like Mitchie Torres (Demi Lovato), who scores a coveted spot at the camp thanks to them hiring her mom's catering business. But when Mitchie lies about her background to impress some popular girls, she starts building a house of cards that could come crashing down, taking a Jonas Brother's feelings with it. Will Mitchie learn to be true to herself? Why did one of the Jonas Brothers allow himself to be characterised as a backwards idiot? And is "Brown Cesario" a real name? Listen and find out!

Parents might seem like they've got everything figured out, but it's worth remembering that they're just one failed time travel experiment away from crying, throwing temper tantrums, and liberally pissing themselves at the slightest provocation. Not so high and mighty now, eh?
That's the premise of 2001's The Poof Point, in which accomplished husband and wife scientist team Norton and Marigold Ballard decide to let a dog wander into their time machine and start pulling things out at random. Because of this, the pair starts rapidly de-aging and it's up to their kids, Eddie and Marie to save the day before their bickering parents reach the fatal 'poof point' and poof out of existence. Will the Ballards be able to figure out what went wrong with the experiment? Should Eddie still attend his audition for the band The Urban Slugs, considering that his parents will die very soon? Did Norty make a mess? Listen and find out!

We're back in the Wonderful World of Disney this week, to check out Life-Size, the 2000 comedy starring Lindsay Lohan as a grieving little girl who uses a necromancy grimoire to try and resurrect her dead mother, and Tyra Banks as a doll who comes to life and tries to have sex with that little girl's father.
Lohan plays Casey, a young girl who uses a mystical book to try and bring her mom back to life, but when some doll hair accidentally gets into her dark ritual she ends up with a life-sized doll named Eve (Banks), who is eager to experience everything the world has to offer, especially Casey's Dad (Jere Burns), and every other man at his law office. Will Casey be able to find the book containing the reversal spell and send Eve back to her home town of Sunnyvale? Will dad realise that his daughter is more important than making partner at his law firm? And why is this film a dark erotic thriller instead of a fun kids' film? Listen and find out!

High-schooler Jamie Bartlett finds herself thrust onto the world stage when an email error sees her fictionlised journal become a nationwide best-seller. But what will happen if her fellow students find out some of the characters are loosely based on them?!
If your answer is 'probably nothing?' then boy does Read It and Weep have a problem with you, buddy. Brace for one of the most incoherent DCOMs Luke and Andy have ever encountered, made only slightly more palatable by a Green Goblin-esque mind shattering and roiling masses of hyper-aggressive iguanas.

It turns out he's here at the behest of the nearby CIA to investigate what appears to be an ancient computer, and what follows is the funniest 20 minutes of television ever committed to the Disney Channel as Fi and her friends repeatedly break into the CIA headquarters and put their hands all over everything. What if a snowman came to life? It'd be pretty horrifying I expect, on account of how he'd be like, three fleshy balls, precariously balanced on top of each other. But what if the snowman had abs? Pretty sexy, right? Also he has the mind of a child. Wait, come back.
That's the premise for Hot Frosty (2024), Netflix's smash hit holiday movie in which a sexual snowman comes to life to romance a bereaved widow looking to put the spark back into her life. And by romance, we mean fix a bunch of stuff around her house, get turned down for hugs, and almost kiss her twice, because this movie is light on the steamy romance, and heavy on scenes of policemen doing sketch comedy work. But it's probably for the best, because did I mention he has the mind of a child? Good, good. Just checking. Anyway, happy holidays y'all, and if you want bonus episodes of the show, monthly livestream watchalongs, or a shoutout at the end of the show, remember to check out our Patreon at Patreon.com/extrahelpings.

We return to The Wonderful World of Disney for this week's offering, 1999's H-E Double Hockey Sticks, which reunites Boy Meets World's Will Friedel and Matthew Lawrence as Griffelkin, a demon in training, and Dave Heinrich, an ambitious hockey player who would sell his soul to win the Stanley Cup, and then does do that.
But that's when things start to go wrong, not only for Griffelkin, who finds himself getting attached to his human target, but also the movie, which then aimlessly spins its wheels for ages until deciding it's going to spend the last twenty minutes speedrunning a ragtag sports movie arc. Will Dave learn to be a team player and turn around the fortunes of the Annapolis Angels? Will Griffelkin shut up for, like, five minutes? Is this entire movie the result of a wager between bored 19th Century aristocrats? In a last gasp for Halloween 2024, Mom Can't Cook is back with our live Halloween special, in which we're recapping 2004's Halloweentown High!
Marnie Cromwell, powerful witch and Best Person In The World is back with a new plan to unite the human world and Halloweentown: make a bunch of Halloweentown students attend her high school, in disguise, so that no one knows they're from Halloweentown. But having bet the Cromwell magic that this experiment will work, Marnie soon finds sinister forces of varying levels of attention to detail working against her, and must race against time to have humans accept creatures before midnight on Halloween, lest her and her family not be able to levitate hot cocoa around any more. Welcome, foolish mortals, to the Mom Can't Cook podcast! Consider this dismaying observation: this episode is about the 2003 Haunted Mansion movie, which offered us this chilling challenge: watching the 2003 Haunted Mansion movie.
Eddie Murphy plays Jim Evers, a workaholic real estate agent who drags his family to the titular manse with the hopes of earning a big payday from selling it. But as soon as the Evers arrive they realise that all is not well at Gracey Manor, as the house's 999 happy haunts come out to socialise. Will Eddie Murphy stop effing around long enough to save his family? Are Master Gracey and Eddie Murphy's wife actually really into each other? And how is ramping a horse and carriage out of an attic considered anyone's 'way'? This week, the DCOM writers spin the sports wheel and get a teen... [BOXER] who is worried about the ridicule he'll receive for his secret love of... [COMPETITIVE DOUBLE DUTCH JUMP ROPE]. Huh. Not sure how that got on here, but let's see how they get on.
The boxer in question is Isadore "Izzy" Daniels, a pugilistic prodigy under a lot of pressure from his overbearing dad to succeed and become the third generation of Daniels to win the prestigious golden gloves tournament. Izzy is fine with this, until one day he takes his sister to a jump rope contest and the scales fall from his eyes, revealing to him a whole new world of *checks notes* competitive jump rope. Can Izzy balance his love of boxing and double dutch? Will he find romance with Mary, the feisty leader of local underdog skipping team the Joy Jumpers? Does this movie's narrator think we're idiots? Jett Jackson is the star of the hit TV show Silverstone, a thrilling spy drama full of karate and explosions. He's also a regular kid trying to keep his grades up and ask his friend Kayla to the prom. As you can imagine, this is a challenging lifestyle to maintain that only gets more difficult when he accidentally falls through a dimension hole and ends up in the fictional Silverstone universe, while the fictional character Silverstone ends up in the real world, living Jett's life for him.
If that sounds like a complicated premise, well done for noticing, because yes, this is a challenging one folks. Still, it's worth it for a rare good DCOM, so let's unpack it together as we get into Jett's home life, the confusing technological forever war of the Silverstone universe, and of course, the wicked machinations of the evil Michael Ironside. Enjoy, and if you want bonus episodes of the show, monthly livestream watchalongs, or a shoutout at the end of the show, remember to check out our Patreon at Patreon.com/extrahelpings.

Vega omega, Mom Can't Cook! fans, this week we're heading back to the spay-stay for another instalment in the Zenon series of sci fi films that is confusing major, as well as viral extreme (bad).

But when moon activist Sage Borealis approaches her to tell her that going to the moon is bad, Zenon must decide whether to pursue her dreams of being the galaxy's most extreme teen, or appease the moon goddess Selena to stop her destroying the Earth with weather. High School Musical may have been the most successful musical DCOM, but it wasn't the first. That dubious honour belongs to 2003's The Cheetah Girls, which charts the fortunes of a four piece girl group as they navigate friendship, fame, and deciding whether or not to trust a man who is literally named 'Jackal Johnson.'
When we first meet the Cheetah Girls they're performing at kids' birthday parties to audiences just waiting for them to shut up so they can go ham on the pinata. But a chance encounter with a famous music producer leads them down a dark path that ends the same way so many of these stories do: with a dog in a hole. Can the Cheetahs stay true to themselves while doing what it takes to launch their music career? Is one of their dads really Super Mario in witness protection? And why is a full third of this movie a musicless dog rescue? Listen to find out, and if you want bonus episodes of the show, monthly livestream watchalongs, or a shoutout at the end of the show, remember to check out our Patreon at Patreon.com/extrahelpings.

Calvin Wheeler, the main character of Life is Ruff, is many things. A big man on campus, a world class skateboarder, master to a snivelling worm-like manservant named Figg and of course, the world's biggest fan of an unpopular superhero named Gotham Man.
What he isn't, is a dog owner, something that proves to be a problem when he needs to win a dog show to get enough money to buy the rare comic Gotham Man #1. Enter Tyco, a large, rambunctious shelter dog whose antics prove to be more than the selfish Calvin can handle. Will Calvin be able to overcome his selfishness and lead Tyco to dog show glory? What is going on in Gotham Man anyway? Does that fancy evil boy really die at the end of this movie? What if Johnny Tsunami were a lot less fun, and a lot more about probate law and real estate deals? That's the question no one asked that was answered by Rip Girls (2000)!
Sydney Miller is a 13 year old girl who suddenly finds herself the owner of a large parcel of land in Hawaii after a distant relative leaves it to her in their will. But it turns out that Hawaii holds painful memories for her overprotective father, who left the island after Sydney's mother was killed in a mysterious accident that happened in some kind of large body of water, while riding some kind of board, on some kind of 'wave'. What could possibly have happened to Sydney's mother? Will Sydney sell the farm to evil property developers who want to turn it into a sensitively developed eco resort? Or will she become a cattle farmer while her dad opens a school for stray horses up on the hill? Listen to find out, and if you want bonus episodes of the show, monthly livestream watchalongs, or a shoutout at the end of the show, remember to check out our Patreon at Patreon.com/extrahelpings.

Listen to Girl Pop by Tyler Van Den Berg.
High School Musical was a watershed moment for Disney Channel Original Movies, when they crossed over from odd, throwaway curiosities about mermen and telepathic horses, into huge mainstream success, with hit albums, merchandise and two bona fide stars in the form of Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens.
With all that being said however, it is still recognisably a DCOM, thanks to such unmissable genre conventions as a vaguely nonsensical plot, a budget of about $40, and of course, a weapons-grade Bad Dad. Listen on for our thoughts on this most famous of DCOMs, and if you want bonus episodes of the show, monthly livestream watchalongs, or a shoutout at the end of the show, remember to check out our Patreon at Patreon.com/extrahelpings.

The Even Stevens Movie (2003) is the culmination of three years and 65 episodes of television, which we have seen precisely none of. However, that's not going to stop us from recapping this wild movie, in which the Stevens family think they've won a dream vacation to a paradise island, only to end up unwitting participants in a cruel reality show.
Having seen none of Even Stevens, it's hard to know what's a beloved Even Stevens Bit, and what is unconnected nonsense concocted for the movie. For example, is Louis Stevens always building sex chairs in the show? Is there really a cool teen character called Alan Twitty? Why is the character of Beans... full stop. Listen as we try to find answers, and if you want bonus episodes of the show, remember to check out our Patreon at Patreon.com/extrahelpings.

Ice. What is it? Science can only begin to guess. But without it we would not have figure skating or ice hockey, the two sports at the heart of this week's DCOM, Go Figure.

How many great bands have never found mainstream success because their lead singer stands there singing, instead of rolling around on the floor doing yoga and the splits and stuff? It is literally millions.
That's the predicament the band The Zettabytes find themselves in in Disney Channel Original Movie Pixel Perfect - that is until they meet Loretta Modern, who can sing, dance and is, regrettably, a sex hologram made by the world's worst boy. Will the band's original singer adapt to being usurped by a hologram? Why isn't the boy in prison? And how is this film accidentally full of trenchant observations about the perils of generative AI? We're halfway to Halloween, Mom Can't Cook fans, so what better way to celebrate than with a spooky DCOM! This week it's 2002's The Scream Team, which is, confusingly, about a group of ghosts called The Soul Patrol.
It's also about Ian and Claire, two kids whose grandfather passes away, but unfortunately gets his soul crushed in the fist of an evil dead inventor called Zachariah Kull. And also about an insulting Halloween festival that Zachariah Kull is annoyed about? But also mostly about natural gas! And the Soul Patrol are there, occasionally! Good times.

Miracle in Lane 2 tells the inspirational story of Justin Yoder, the first person with a disability to compete in the All American Soapbox Derby, and also presumably the first person to sit in a Disney screening room watching a movie about his life that inexplicably features loads of scenes of his parents going to town on each other.
Frankie Muniz plays Justin, a plucky kid searching for a sport in which he can compete at the same level as his athletic brother Seth (So Weird's Patrick Levis). When he discovers soap box derby racing, it seems like Justin has found his calling, but will the set in their ways derby association allow him to compete with his modified car? Will crusty local misanthrope Old Man Vic share his wealth of soapbox knowledge with this wannabe racer? Is the driver essentially ballast? Listen and find out!

Can Johnny save his increasingly large family from the poisonous influence of these bad dudes and their strikingly terrible extreme sport? Jace Newfield is a New Yorker through and through. He loves jazz music, playing baseball in Central Park and, of course, the great taste of an egg cream. He's also a person who is blind, although in a place like the Big Apple, he lives a normal life with his friends.
But when his family uproots and moves Jace to Utah, he finds himself struggling with his new surroundings. The school won't get a beeping backboard to allow him to play basketball, his music teacher hates him, and his classmates don't seem to appreciate him walking around loudly talking about how great New York is, and how everyone in Utah is a toothless hillbilly who wouldn't know culture if it spit in their egg cream. We all feel like we don't belong on this planet now and then, but very few of us choose to construct an intergalactic satellite communications dish in our backyard to beg aliens to come and pick us up, and even fewer of us have those calls answered by a talking dog with a necklace made of lips.
Not so Mike Pillsbury, an awkward computer genius who decides to depart planet Earth when some bullies set fire to his skeleton roundabout (it's a long story). Mike soon gets more than he bargained for however, when the worst scum of the universe make a beeline for his front door, looking to exploit the hitherto undiscovered human race. DCOM royalty Brenda Song plays Wendy Wu, a feisty teen whose only goal in life is to be crowned homecoming queen at the prom, a plan that is thrown into jeopardy when a Shaolin monk turns up to inform her that she is the reincarnation of a legendary warrior who must defeat an ancient evil named Yan Lo. It's the holiday season folks, so this week we're cracking into a seasonal DCOM: the impossibly festive sounding The Ultimate Christmas Present (2000).
The movie tells the story of Allie and Sam, two teenage girls who steal Santa's weather machine, which you'll notice, isn't a thing Santa is known for having. If he were known for having a weather machine, said machine probably wouldn't have an earthquake button either, but while we're here imagining things, we may as imagine a better movie.

Here we meet Erica Enders and her sister Courtney, junior dragster prodigies who struggle to be taken seriously because of a) the sexist attitudes of those in charge of this male dominated sport, and b) the fact that the sport itself is driving really fast in a straight line for eight seconds. The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror is a Disney ride in which you get in an elevator that flings you up and down for about a minute. As you can probably tell from that description, it's rich with narrative potential, which is why we have 1997's Tower of Terror movie starring Steve Guttenberg and Kirsten Dunst, the movie we're talking about today.
Guttenberg plays the improbably named Buzzy Crocker, a fraudulent journalist who is presented with the opportunity of a lifetime: head to the derelict Hollywood Tower Hotel to solve the mysterious disappearance of five people from the elevator on Halloween night, 1939. Will Buzzy be able to get to the bottom of what happened? Is the hotel haunted? And will his sister finally relent and let him take photos of his niece in an abandoned building? Listen and find out!

If you didn't watch 1999's Don't Look Under the Bed when it first came out, then let us introduce you to that rarest of things: a good DCOM! If you did watch it when it first came out then you won't need reminding, as this film is absolutely terrifying and you've doubtless seen it every time you close your eyes for the last 24 years.
The film tells the story of Frances Bacon McCausland, a gifted teen who starts to be blamed for mysterious, mischievous happenings all over town. At first she suspects the improbably named Larry Houdini, a strange boy that only she can see, but it soon becomes clear that darker, more Boogeyman-related forces are at work, and Frances must team up with Larry to save her brother, and the town itself. Also, did I mention it's terrifying? Because it is.

17 year old Pete Riley thinks he has it pretty tough. He's the assistant manager of a huge cinema, there's a big Hollywood premiere happening tonight, and he's friends with like, 37 named characters that this film expects us to keep track of. An impossible task for a movie audience, let alone one stressed boy.

This week on Mom Can't Cook, Luke and Andy delve into a most perplexing mystery: just what the hell is going on in the 2002 Disney Channel Original Movie Get a Clue.
The film stars Lindsay Lohan as Lexy Gold, an aspiring journalist whose scoop on a secret relationship between her teachers kicks off a twisty, intriguing mystery that lasts a good 45 minutes before it completely falls apart into Scooby Doo-style farce. Which honestly, is pretty good going! You'll get it next time, Disney Channel.

Ten hut, maggots, this week Mom Can't Cook! is off to military academy, with all the discipline, uniformity and wild, flamboyant gun twirling that that entails.
That's because we're talking about Cadet Kelly (2002), a film in which feisty, artistic teen Kelly Collins (Hillary Duff) is forced to attend military school after her new stepdad is made Commandant. Along the way she'll face tough commanding officers, struggle to maintain her individuality, and for some reason, become extremely good at gun dancing, which is apparently a highly prized skill in the US military. Who knew?

Peel your ears and get hip to this, daddy-os, Mom Can't Cook! is making the scene with a flick that is as confusingly 1950s as this sentence.
That's right, it's Alley Cats Strike, a film about an unpleasant group of 1950s obsessed, bowling-loving outcasts who are suddenly thrust into the limelight when they find themselves as the town's last hope to win a prestigious, apple-themed sporting tournament. Can they act non 1950s long enough to carry the town to glory? Will a normal person be able to join their ranks and not lose his temper and punch all of them? How many failed apple harvests will it take for this town to go full Wicker Man? The answers to these questions and more, await!

What if a huge pop star accidentally swapped phones with a teenage fan? Seems like the sort of thing his PA would fix in about 15 minutes, right? Well not in Stuck in the Suburbs (2004), because you wouldn't believe how long it takes to sort out or how many low speed bicycle chases are involved.
The phone in question belongs to pop sensation Jordan Cahill, and ends up in the possession of Brittany Aarons, a Jordan superfan and aspiring musician who is thrilled to have a connection to her favourite singer. But after her and her friend Natasha invade his privacy, blackmail him, and extort him in a legally actionable way, they start to realise that Jordan may have a deeper side that his record company is keeping under wraps.

Buckle up, DCOM fans, because this week we present a crossover event easily as momentous as Avengers Endgame: all three Lawrence brothers in a single movie!
That movie is Jumping Ship, a canonical sequel to Horse Sense, which you'll remember was a story about a spoiled rich kid learning about honest down home folks who keep it real by owning horses and operating enormous ranches. What might surprise you is that this film contains almost no horses, and is instead a story about ancient temples and bloodthirsty pirates in Australia. Why? Your guess is as good as ours!

Guarding the life of the US President's son might not sound like a premise rife with comic potential, but the makers of First Kid (1996) didn't let that hold them back.
In this Walt Disney Pictures movie that is DCOM-adjacent, Agent Sam Simms (played by comedian Sinbad) is tasked with protecting rebellious teen and heir to the Presidential throne Luke Davenport (Brock Pierce). If Simms can keep him off the Snake Internet, that is. Listen now for Andy and Luke's recap of First Kid, plus 90s VR, clip art and much more.

Did you ever watch the Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie reality show The Simple Life? The makers of this week's DCOM Cow Belles certainly did!
The movie tells the story of Taylor and Courtney Callum, two spoiled, rich sisters whose thoughtless attitudes and profligate spending earn them a punishment shift working in their father's inexplicably lucrative dairy. But when embezzlement leaves the business in dire financial straits, and with their father in Ecuador for some reason, can the Callum girls step up, take responsibility and get the audience to care about the financial aspects of yoghurt production?

What a treat we have in store this week, DCOM fans, because we're talking about Hounded, the Disney Channel Original Movie with the most violent dog attacks per minute of screen time. It's not even close.
The movie tells the story of Jay Martin, a bright student who is trying to win a scholarship to a prestigious school. However, through a series of wacky mishaps, Jay accidentally ends up kidnapping his principal's tiny, violent, bloodthirsty dog instead, and now you can forget about all that prestigious school plot because the rest of the film is just him being repeatedly owned by this horrible hound in a series of scenes that are as inventive in their action cinematography as they are genuinely harrowing to watch.

A magic coin that grants one wish passes into your possession. Would you wish for world peace? Life-changing wealth? How about deleting your annoying kid brother from existence?
That's the questionable wish made by big bro Alex (A.J. Trauth) in this episode's DCOM, You Wish! (2003) But don't worry, his wish doesn't erase kid brother Stevie (Spencer Breslin) entirely, it just turns Stevie into a TV megastar, for some reason. Listen to Luke and Andy try and grapple with this most bizarre of DCOMs, that also features an establishment called Larry's Rockin' Coin World, a huge amount of downtown Auckland and a surprising amount of Vanessa Carlton.

Do you like dolphins? Do you like extremely predictable romantic drama? Do you like heavy handed religious metaphors? If any of these things sound like your idea of a good time then you're either Luke Westaway, or someone else who is going to enjoy the film we're talking about this week, A Ring of Endless Light.
The movie tells the story of Vicky Austin, an aspiring poet who spends the summer on Seven Bay Island, an island on the Atlantic coast of the US that is just lousy with dolphins, evil fishermen, and hot boys to become entangled in love triangles with. Will Vicky be able to choose between earnest but kind dolphin researcher Adam Eddington and torrid bad boy Zachary Gray? Can she truly communicate with dolphins telepathically? And just why did dolphins make the conscious decision to give up their hands? The answers to some of these questions await!

Imagine being an only child when suddenly, your parents have quints, and your previously peaceful home life is shattered by five wild and wacky babies! That certainly sounds like a premise rich in comic potential, doesn't it?
Well too bad, this is a DCOM, so instead we get Quints (2000), a movie that barely features the quints of the title, but instead focuses on their older sister Jamie Grover (Kimberly J. Brown), who is neither wacky, nor a baby. How will Jamie cope with no longer being the centre of her parents' world? Is getting into George Washington Science Magnet School truly where her heart lies? Can we actually see the quints, though, please? The answers to these questions, and more, await!

It's not clear at which point Kyle Johnson, protagonist of The Luck of the Irish (2001), is killed and the rest of the film is just the product of his neurons firing one last time, but it must be pretty early on because this is probably the most unhinged DCOM Andy and Luke have tackled so far.
The movie tells the age-old story of a basketball-loving boy who discovers he hails from a family of leprechauns and - uh oh - begins transforming into a leprechaun when his lucky coin is stolen. Andy and Luke grapple hopelessly with the most baffling DCOM plot yet, but not as hopelessly as this movie grapples with accents, or weighty themes such as heritage and the immigrant experience.

Happy Monday, podcast fans! We're back and trying to answer one of the most contemplated questions of modern times: can a genius ever be cool?
Charlie Boyle, the physics prodigy protagonist of 1999 DCOM Genius certainly gives it a good go, by adopting the bad boy persona of Chaz Anthony so that he can be the big man on campus at a local high school, while simultaneously trying to discover the graviton particle at the nearby university. But how long can Charlie keep this ruse afloat? Could he use his groundbreaking discoveries to fix ice hockey games? And shouldn't everyone be wearing a lot more radiation shielding? Spooky season is here, podcast fans, and we're celebrating the only way we know how - by watching a DCOM with the word Halloween in the title.
This week, Andy and Luke are talking about Halloweentown, a seasonal story about a young girl called Marnie who discovers that her grandmother is a witch who lives in a magical place called Halloweentown, where it's Halloween all year round, and the residents are all monsters of varying levels of attention to detail, depending on how close they are to the camera.
