Join Swami Padmanabha and friends on a thought-provoking journey as they delve into the far-reaching consequences and implications associated not only with our conception of God, but also with what we do with that conception. For instance, although the goal of our practice is love of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, we can remain very impersonal in our relationship with the Divine, our selves, each other and the world—and even in the name of personalism.
Do we act as if we believed that God is the Sweet Absolute, the friend to all? Or do we overlay our unresolved traumas and misconceptions over that and end up fearing him; fearing that he will withdraw his love or punish us in some way if we aren’t “good,” that we will be punished and pushed away by him for our imperfections in spite of our sincerity? Do we pray as if he is not already knowing us; as if he is not already taking care of us; as if he is not already loving us. How does certainty of our conceptions add a layer of complexity to opening our hearts to the way Krishna shows up as our life.
You are invited to explore these and other vital considerations, not in a mood of condemning or blaming, but with enthusiasm to sincerely reflect and be introspective so we can make the necessary adjustments in our angle of vision and grow toward our fullest potential— beginning with the awareness of our conceptions, how they shape our world, and then how to become free from the limiting effects we create.
