Before we go back to the narrative of Exodus, we still have one great mystery to uncover about the stories we went over so far: how did the Baby Moses story find its way into the book of Exodus? And can its context glean new and specific insights? To support the podcast - join the tribe!
The text for episode 44:
These are the names of the children of Israel, which came into Egypt; every man and his household came with Jacob.
Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Judah,
Issachar, Zebulun, and Benjamin,
Dan, and Naphtali, Gad, and Asher.
And all the people that came out of the loins of Jacob numbered in seventy, and Joseph was in Egypt.
And the children of Israel were fruitful, and increased and multiplied, grew stronger, and the land was filled with them.
And the Egyptians made the children of Israel serve with rigor:
And they made their lives bitter with hard labor, in morter, and in brick, and in the field: all their work was hard labor.
And the children of Israel sighed because of their labor, and cried out, and their cry reached God.
And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.
And God saw the children of Israel, and God knew.
