Voter dissatisfaction with the traffic light coalition stemmed from economic struggles, security concerns, and unpopular policies. CDU/CSU, under Friedrich Merz, is forming a coalition with the SPD, excluding the AfD and Die Linke. The new government prioritizes economic growth, migration management, and stronger defense policies, marking a shift from military restraint to greater geopolitical assertiveness.
