Its guest star awesomeness this week, as we talk about Ed Begley, Jr., Armie Hammer & Lindsey McKeon in "Wichita Linebacker" and Matt Czuchry & Laura San Giacomo in "Charlie Don't Surf." We're not particularly fond of the case oft the week in "Wichita," but we are thrilled to have Weevil back and meet the Hearst College Dean. We also have lots of thoughts on the Veronica & Logan conflict. In "Charlie," the rape case arc continues as Veronica takes a job clearing the Pi Sigs. Meanwhile, Keith tracks a potentially cheating spouse for Kit Deluca. The thing that does work in this episode really well is the investigation into Logan's trust fund and the discovery that he has a long lost brother. That could be because Dohring and Czuchry get wet and shirtless.

Welcome to season 3 and the CW, everyone! In "Welcome Wagon," new kid Piz loses his all his stuff, and we have some thoughts about his early characterization. Holly and Carrie discuss the new credits, the remixed theme song, the somewhat different tone and the new characters.  In episode 2, Veronica investigates a sorority house for possible involvement with the serial rapist. While we like the idea of carrying over the Hearst rape case from season 2 as the first big mystery, we have some things to say about the less than subtle characterization going on with the different factions on campus in these early episodes. And Holly curses a lot while discussing slut-shaming. Its not cool, y'all.

We've reached the end of season two in this week's episode! Cathy & Melissa join us this week to talk about "Not Pictured" and season 2 overall. We have a lot of thoughts about Veronica's graduation dream, Lamb being a supreme douche, and Beaver as a cartoon villain. In the spoiler section, we talk about the movie release date & the EW exclusive clip.

Its time for us to go to Alterna-Prom! I'm sure other things happened during "Look Who's Stalking," but we mostly want to talk about Veronica, Logan Echolls, & his Epic speech. And his white tuxedo. And Veronica's teary elevator ride. We're less happy (rimshot!) with the legal shenanigans in "Happy Go Lucky," and we're still a little baffled by the Terrence Cook storyline and unenthusiastic about Lucky Dohanic. Its fine, though, cause we'll just listen to "I Hear the Bells" to get happy again.

Veronica's being haunted by the bus crash victims this week in "I Am God", and we have mixed feelings about the dream sequences. We're less mixed up about that flashback makeout and Wallace & Logan working together on the egg drop project.  We also have concerns about the believability of the Lucky the Janitor stuff. In "Nevermind the Buttocks," a forgettable case of the week drags down an otherwise good episode that ties together Kendall, the Fitzpatricks and the PCHers. Weevil gets some great scenes & Logan Echolls makes a townie moan without using his hands, so we're into it.

We're saying goodbye to Hannah Griffith & welcoming back Troy this week! In "The Rapes of Graff," Veronica helps Troy when he's accused of rape while on a visit to Hearst College. Meanwhile, Logan's affection for Hannah may be greater than we thought, though you can't tell it by the next episode. Also, Cliff gets handcuffed to a bed by a hooker. In "Plan B," one of our very favorite episodes, Veronica & Weevil try to prove Thumper killed Felix, and Logan gets to be Honorary Deputy Commissioner in Woody's office. It's also time for Sadie Hawkins, and Wallace acts like a teenage boy. Beaver, not so much.

Its a special episode of the podcast, where we invite you to watch Plan B along with us as we offer commentary on the episode. Its true, we talk about their clothes a lot: Logan's tee, Weevil's henley, Veronica's jacket! But we also talk about hair! When we're not being shallow, we do manage to talk about the substance of the episode a bit, since this episode is a favorite of both hosts. Queue up your DVD and watch with us!

This week, we're barely putting up with bad acronyms & Kristen Cavallari. Up first, in Versatile Toppings, the Cho's pizza boys are getting mugged, the gay Neptune High students are getting blackmailed, and Terrence Cook is in the spotlight for the bus crash. In The Quick & The Wed, Jane's sister goes missing just before her wedding, Veronica apparently can identify bomb materials on sight, and Logan's manipulations of Hannah finally come to a head as Veronica figures out what he's up to and Mr. Griffith offers him a deal.

Longest podcast title ever? Maybe. We're happy to have Rowan Kaiser back with us to talk about these two episodes. Up first, in "Rashard & Wallace Go to White Castle," Veronica helps Wallace resolve the matter of the hit and run he was involved with in Chicago, while Logan and Weevil scheme to uncover the PCHer working with the Fitzpatricks. Oh, and Weevil gets caught sneaking out of Logan's suite. Shhhh, context isn't your friend. In "Ain't No Magic Mountain High Enough," everyone goes the winter carnival, new couples emerge, and Veronica has to uncover a thief. Also, Logan got a hair cut, and we discuss the important stuff here at Ahoy Mateys. Finally, in our spoiler section, we couldn't resist talking a bit about the movie featurette that hit the web last week. Look for that at the 1:51:00 mark.

Its our most expletive laden episode yet! Cathy & Melissa join us as we talk about the conclusion of the coma baby storyline. Up first, we tackle One Angry Veronica, maybe our least favorite ep ever, where Veronica gets jury duty, Logan gets teary eyed, and Duncan gets even more mother-expletive delusional. Then its on to Donut Run, where the twists are fast & furious and the hosts are feeling both impressed and furious. The end of the episode is dedicated to discussing the overall Duncan arc of S2. Stupid expletive Duncan.

That title just looks weird, huh? This week, we finally get to talk about the episode from which our show gets its name! In "Ahoy Mateys," Veronica helps Keith investigate who is haunting the parents of one of the bus crash victims. She also finds time to get into trouble with Logan, the kind that ends in gunplay. In "My Mother, the Fiend," Veronica goes on a quest to get to know her mother as a teenager, which lacks bite because Lianne Mars is the worst. At least we get to see Trina Echolls again and have a mini-Buffy reunion. Meanwhile, Duncan does things. I think. Who really knows with that guy?

We're back to mostly gushing after last week's grumbling! Up first, we're tackling "Rat Saw God," where its old home week as Abel Koontz & Aaron Echolls return to Neptune. The real star of the hour is Logan's leather jacket, though. We also discuss how this episode raises some interesting questions about Veronica's moral compass. In the second half of the show, we're talking about "Nobody Puts Baby in a Corner," where Veronica investigates child abuse amongst Meg's babysitting clients and starts to investigate Logan's murder charges. Also, Duncan is shady, but what else is new?

This week, we're grumpy. Up first, we're talking about Green-Eyed Monster, where the case of the week is silly and the Duncan & Veronica relationship continues to baffle. Then we're on to Blast From the Past, where Duncan actually gets a somewhat likeable personality, even if its completely divorced from the episode before. Jackie brings it all down by being a douchenozzle. Throughout both eps, Wallace finally gets his own storyline but it really bums us out. The bus crash clues raise these two eps up a bit, but settle in for a lot of grumbling!

In this week's ep, we're talking "Drive Ed" and "Cheatty Cheatty Bang Bang." The aftermath of the bus crash in "Driver Ed" finds Veronica with mixed feelings as she helps the driver's daughter prove her father didn't commit suicide. In "Cheatty Cheatty Bang Bang," the Casablancas house of cards comes crashing down after Cassidy hires Veronica to find out who Kendall is cheating with.

Season 2 is here! We're thrilled to have Rowan Kaiser, AV Club writer and super cool person, with us to talk about the season 2 premier, "Normal Is the Watchword." Rowan reviewed Veronica Mars for TV Club. We're discussing the door cliffhanger, boyfriend drama, and the difficulty of redefining a show after your central mystery has been solved. Its a controversial shipping episode, but nobody can say they didn't start season 2 with a bang. Or a crash. Sorry, I couldn't resist.

We've reached the end of our journey through season 1! In this week's episode, we're focused solely on the season 1 finale, "Leave it to Beaver." We spend some time talking about Veronica's psyche, Keith as the best dad ever, the clues to the murderer throughout the season, and Logan Echolls' no good, very bad day. There may even be a few tears as we say goodbye to our favorite fabulous dead girl.

Its a long one this week, y'all. Up first, we're talking about "M.A.D.," as Veronica helps take down the douchiest douche in Neptune with a little mutually assured destruction. Meanwhile, her secret relationship with Logan gets tested. And maybe they take the time to light up my screen with a little bathroom makeout. Next up is the penultimate season 1 episode, "A Trip to the Dentist," when Veronica is determined to get to the bottom of what happened to her at Shelly Pomeroy's party. Its old home week at Neptune High and all the 09ers are invited to the interrogation.

We've finally reached all the kissing. Yep, that's right, we're talking about making out. Specifically, Logan Echolls & Veronica Mars. In this week's episode, we're discussing THE KISS. In "Weapons of Class Destruction," Veronica investigates a bomb threat to the high school while juggling the news that her father is dating Wallace's mother. And she maybe finds time to have a confrontation with Duncan about her investigation & examine Logan's tonsils. That Veronica is a pro at multi-tasking. In "Hot Dogs," Veronica helps nerdy Mandy find her lost dog and assists Logan with Trina's douchebag boyfriend. Oh, and also more kissing. Can you tell that we love these two episodes?
