This is because of the very nature of summer's yang-dominant energy.
During summer yang energy moves upward and outward. It is about doing and going. If we are very busy with summer's yang activities we may fail to notice the changing of the light, the increased wind, and the garden ready to harvest. All of these signal a time to shift our conduct and begin our journey inward. This meditation is designed to help you shift into the Autumn Qi and move into a heart-centred space.

Winter is of the water element and it is the perfect time to dive into the contemplation of the wisdom of not knowing. It is the yin wisdom of water - Wu Wei - the way of the water and the Tao. The Tao advises us that it is ‘best to be like water'. Water flows to the lowest places. Nothing is quite like it in wearing away the hard’ and seemingly unmovable forces in our lives.
In our bodies, the water element is contained in the energy of the Kidneys. They are vulnerable to being depleted by the emotion of fear and are made buoyant by trusting in the not knowing of life. At some point, it is wise to deeply feel the energy of fear in our bodies and recognize it as a fundamentally safe experience. The fear of the fear and the running from it is what really brings about suffering and confusion.
Winter is the optimal time to cultivate trust in the divine orchestration of everything occurring in our lives and embrace it as the pathway to our awakening. Winter is about stillness, about turning inward, and about being in a deep process of hibernation. It is when the shamans ride the dragons into the still lakes of silent retreat for the darker

During the fall, our environment becomes more and more yin. As harvests are finishing up, a pleasant stillness arrives. The beginning of Autumn is the most important time to pay attention to the changing of the seasons, and, conversely, the most difficult time to do so. This is because of the very nature of summer's yang-dominant energy.
During summer yang energy moves upward and outward. It is about doing and going. If we are very busy with summer's yang activities we may fail to notice the changing of the light, the increased wind, and the garden ready to harvest. All of these signal a time to shift our conduct and begin our journey inward. This meditation is designed to help you shift into the Autumn Qi and move into a heart-centred space.

This audio is focused on releasing the summer's drive, tuning into the longer nights and channelling the yang energy from the head and upper body down into the kidneys to store it for winter. Now is the height of summer, the time when the sun is the highest in the sky, and the zenith of yang energy. Although, in the West, Summer Solstice is highlighted as the beginning of summer, from a qi perspective it is the beginning of the end of summer. From the solstice onwards yin is birthed, the days begin to get shorter and yang begins its decline.
Now is the time to go full steam ahead with projects and ideas. Everything is flourishing all around us and we can harness this in our behaviour with generosity and friendliness during this time of abundance. It's helpful to fully dive into the projects you chose in the spring for the next six weeks before autumn begins and it becomes the time for completion.
