We here at ATTT HQ hope you aren't cooking up some hate mail for us in the wake of what happened in Classic Albums Worst To First : Revolver Part 1. Feelings were definitely hurt and toes were stepped on. However, we've decided that since we're now highlighting the best of the best in Part 2, no one shall be allowed to be butthurt by the Worst To First placements of the 7 songs making up the top half of our list. This is rarified air, to be in the top half of the songs on The Beatles all-time classic album Revolver. The song quality is off the charts, as we find Fab Four entering their prime in 1966. Whatever order you'd prefer, the songs of Revolver redefined what rock n roll could be. Some call Revolver The Beatles at their peak, we know it at the very least as The Beatles at the beginning of their prime, when their music began to transcend all of pop culture, leaving the mop top era in the dust. 1966 was a banner year for music and of course the Fab Four were right there in the thick of it, innovating, expanding and creating some of the greatest music ever made. To celebrate this remarkable time, we thought it wise to put Revolver through the test track by track, and giving those songs the Classic Albums Worst To First treatment. We couldn't think of anyone we'd rather have joining us for this exercise than our good friends in the 'Nard aka Oxnard, CA - the delightful Marina V and Nick Baker, with an assist from the great Shannon Hurley. Feelings were hurt, toes were stepped on but it's all in good fun and it's our little way of celebrating this phenomenal piece of music. Picks 14-8 are featured in Part 1.

If you always think of the cowbell as some frivolous thing to be mocked by Will Ferrell, you need to listen to more music. This mighty percussion instrument is amazingly versatile! It can anchor a hard rock beat, it can spice up a latin jazz standard, and it can turn an ordinary groove into an all time party anthem. We know some of the biggest rock stars of all time from their bands, and while some band members have been able to make a go at it as solo artists, others... not as much. There's real truth to the notion that being in a band is like being in a relationship, for better or for worse. For many of the greatest bands of all time, each member contributes to the chemistry that makes the band so great. Many times band members feel the need to go solo and even though they are rock stars when they're in their bands, as solo artists they are merely one hit wonders. This phenomenon sheds a light on the importance of band dynamics, and the possible limitations of their parts in relation to the sum of them. Our old friend Jeff Axelrod phones in from his home in China with a fun little concept for the pod. At a certain point during Top Ten Two Man Bands Part 1, the conversation with Fernando Perdomo and Michael Collins of the phenomenal two man band Broken Sound sorta went off the rails. Many of our favorite ATTT hangs have this feature as a selling point. The good news is in Part 2, we never ever got back on the rails. It's a rail-less pod, in the best possible way.
