The time has come to confront the elephant in the room. Of all the things wrong with society today, the fact that rock bands are generally shut out of modern music is right near the top. Who doesn't love a good rock band? Penny-pinching record labels? The general public? The youths? We get into this dilemma with our good friend, The Old Boy Himself Ryan Blake as we take a look at some great new(ish) rock bands doing great rock band things in the year 2024. We here at ATTT HQ hope you aren't cooking up some hate mail for us in the wake of what happened in Classic Albums Worst To First : Revolver Part 1. Feelings were definitely hurt and toes were stepped on. However, we've decided that since we're now highlighting the best of the best in Part 2, no one shall be allowed to be butthurt by the Worst To First placements of the 7 songs making up the top half of our list. This is rarified air, to be in the top half of the songs on The Beatles all-time classic album Revolver. The song quality is off the charts, as we find Fab Four entering their prime in 1966. Whatever order you'd prefer, the songs of Revolver redefined what rock n roll could be. Some call Revolver The Beatles at their peak, we know it at the very least as The Beatles at the beginning of their prime, when their music began to transcend all of pop culture, leaving the mop top era in the dust. 1966 was a banner year for music and of course the Fab Four were right there in the thick of it, innovating, expanding and creating some of the greatest music ever made. To celebrate this remarkable time, we thought it wise to put Revolver through the test track by track, and giving those songs the Classic Albums Worst To First treatment. We couldn't think of anyone we'd rather have joining us for this exercise than our good friends in the 'Nard aka Oxnard, CA - the delightful Marina V and Nick Baker, with an assist from the great Shannon Hurley. If you always think of the cowbell as some frivolous thing to be mocked by Will Ferrell, you need to listen to more music. This mighty percussion instrument is amazingly versatile!
