"DRAKE, TRAVIS SCOTT, & YOUNG THUG - TRANCE"

This is an early version of “Trance”, the collaboration between Travis Scott and Young Thug that appears on Metro Boomin’s HEROES & VILLAINS. The track seems to have been cut from Drake’s Honestly, Nevermind at the last minute; the file was dated June 9, 2022, and it was apparently being mastered along with the rest of the album; the subject matter also lines up. How it made its way onto Metro’s album without Drake is unclear, though it’s likely that Metro simply wanted it for his own album, but ultimately chose to cut Drake; tweets indicate that Metro felt there was no room for Drake in his vision for the song.

As well as vocals from Drake, this version features different mixing, a shorter verse from Thug, a different outro, and also lacks Peter Lee Johnson’s violin.
