Terry and Joe are trying to figure out the difference between sci-fi and fantasy as they return to the Lynch side of the podcast to discuss his big budget studio effort, Dune (1984).
Despite issues with the voice-over narration, the compacted back half and too many characters, we don't actually mind this one. The costumes are wild, the FX is good, and we want more of whatever is going on with Baby Alicia Witt.
Plus: the problematic queer coding of Harkonnen, Jodorowsky's Dune, and a silver lining to the film's box office failure.
