A once-Category 4 hurricane, Tropical Storm Idalia is now lashing parts of Georgia and the Carolinas with heavy rain and wind. Idalia made landfall on Florida’s Gulf Coast as a powerful Category 3 storm and was the strongest storm to hit in the Big Bend region, the nook between the Florida panhandle and peninsula, in more than 125 years. Chase Norwood’s family owns Sea Hag Marina in Steinhatchee, Florida, where water levels rose more than nine feet in two hours, reaching record levels. They decided to stay to protect their business.
