Having him on the podcast is definitely a milestone, as it's fascinating to hear Mark share what he considers to be Stockholm's finest architecture through his accurate and entertaining descriptions. He is an architecture critic, journalist, author, and host of shows like Grand Designs, and even though he isn't an architect, he is one of the most well-known names in architecture. In this episode, Mark truly opens our eyes to the details in our surroundings as well as new perspectives on how we can view them. During the past year in New York, I've explored countless stunning buildings, each with its own unique story. In this episode, I'm excited to be joined by my friend Riccardo Palma to dive into some of the city's most iconic modern buildings. Riccardo, an architect at the Bjarke Ingels Group, constantly challenges me with his unique perspective on space and architecture. Riccardo and I always discuss the places we visit, so join us as we share our New York must-see favorites to add to your list. We'll be talking about the Seagram Building, designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and completed in 1958; Donald Judd's estate in SoHo, a landmark of minimalist design completed in 1968; and the Ford Foundation Building, designed by Kevin Roche and completed in 1967.

In this episode, I have the pleasure of speaking with Toni Rubio Soller, a partner and architect at EFFEKT. EFFEKT, which translates to "impact" in Danish, lives up to its name through a diverse array of projects ranging from small-scale objects to comprehensive urban plans. During my time in school, I frequently turned to EFFEKT's work as precedents, drawn to their innovative solutions addressing many of the challenges we face both as architects and as a society. I am thrilled to share this conversation with you.

Anders är energisk, filterlös och direkt, och har genom sina sociala medier skapat en unik relation med både befintliga och potentiella beställare. In this episode, I talk to the incredible Jesper Henriksson, with whom I have had the pleasure of working. Jesper runs the London and Oslo based studio Hesselbrand together with Magnus Casselbrandt and Martin Bransdal I have known Jesper for a few years, and he truly is one of the most inspiring and educated people that I know, and he is someone that I can talk to for hours. Jesper shares a multitude of rebellious stories, discusses how Hesselbrand started as a response to the education at the Architectural Association, and outlines what he considers to be the two ways of creating a space. We also take this opportunity to discuss some of the projects on which we have collaborated.

Marge har alltid fångat mitt intresse, inte enbart genom de många Stockholmsbyggnaderna jag har besökt, utan framför allt på grund av deras uppfriskande syn på arkitektur i såväl stadsbyggnadsprojekt som inredningsprojekt. Jag gästas av Susanne Ramel som berättar om Marge resa att som kvinnor starta ett arkitektkontor i en mansdominerad bransch, hur Marge arbetat med probelmatiken kring platser som Sergelstorg och Stockholms Centralstation, samt det centrala fokuset på social hållbarhet inom deras verksamhet. Susanne Ramel grundade Marge år 2002 tillsammans med Pye Aurell Ehrström, Katarina Grundsell och Louise Masreliez.

Kontoret har en utförlig och bred referensportfölj med såväl privata, kommersiella som offentliga projekt. Dagens avsnitt är speciellt för mig då jag sätter mig ned med min föredetta lärare på KTH, Mikael Bergquist. Mikael har gjort det mesta inom arkitektur och med sin djupgående expertis inom Josef Franks verk, är han en av de mest pålästa personerna jag träffat. Vi disskuterar tankegångarna bakom den komplexa utbyggnaden av Svenskt Tenn, hans fascinerande arbete med Josef Franks ikoniska villor och och hur han applicerar sina erfarenheter både i sin arkitektur och i sin roll som lärare på KTH.

Carmen Izquierdo är den första kvinnan att vinna Kasper Salin-Priset, och driver arkitektbyrån Esencial tillsammans med Mariano Tellechea. Hon berättar om sin uppväxt i Spanien som sedan la grunden till hennes framgångar på Spaniens mest välrenommerade byråer. 2003 flyttade hon till Sverige, och i brist på jobb bestämde hon sig för att delta i och tävlingen för Lunds Domkyrkoforum. Trots hennes unga ålder vann hon tävlingen, vilket även var projektet som hon vann Kasper Salin-Priset för. Detta startade ett helt nytt kapitel i hennes karriär, och i dagens avsnitt delar hon med sig av hennes inspirerande resa, men även de motgångar hon mött på vägen.

Fortsättningsvis möter jag välrenommerade Thomas Sandell på Sandell Sandbergs inspirerande kontor på Döbelnsgatan. Hans resa motiverar till att utmana gränserna för arkitektur och design samt att ta vara på de möjlighetera som korsar ens väg. 

Thomas Sandell influerades tidigt av Aalvar Aaltos mångsidighet som designer och bestämde sig för att göra detsamma. Sedan dess har han designat allt från skor, till flasköppnare, till stadsplaner och är nu även nominerad som årets manliga programledare för hans insats i programmet Villa Wahlgren.
