Happy New Year! To start off 2022, this week's episode of Ask Dr Jessica features Dr Nina Shapiro. As a parent, have you ever struggled explaining to your children why it is important to do healthy things they don't want to do? For example, going to sleep early, or eating fruits and vegetables, or getting vaccinations? Dr. Shapiro recently wrote a book called "The ultimate kids’ guide to being super healthy“, a book for children to help explain the importance of being healthy. We discuss health topics covered in her book, such as the importance of sleep, eating a healthy diet, how to take medication, why vaccinations are important and much more. I think parents will find this information really helpful!
Dr Nina Shapiro is a very impressive physician to say the least. She is currently the director of pediatric otolaryngology at UCLA. She also graduated from Cornell University and Harvard Medical School. In the last few years, she has authored two books —“Hype” and most recently “The ultimate kids’ guide to being super healthy.“ Dr Shapiro has been a regular guest on the show "The Doctors" and her work has also been featured in the LA Times, NPR, and the Wall Street Journal.
