The ADHD Accountant (w/ actionable tips!) - Tina Mathams

62 min • 29 februari 2024

If you're neurodivergent and don't already follow Tina (aka The ADHD Accountant) I cannot recommend it enough.

As we discuss in the episode, the majority of financial advice out there is "typical". Meant for neurotypical people with neurotypical ways of thinking and spending. When we look at our neurodivergent brains (and especially if you're ADHD) most of that typical advice will not be easy to implement, will not take into account our struggles with executive functioning, or our potential impulsive spending.

Tina gives real, actionable tips in the episode. She gives advice on where to start - hint, it's not as simple as "make a budget" and she dives into her thoughts on children and pocket money/allowance.

If you want more after you've listened to this episode I highly recommend listening to her podcast "The ADHD Money + Finance Podcast".  I've listened to all of them and gotten so much great information.

"Start Managing Your Money with ADHD" 5 Week Course
-My partner and I have been part of round one of this course (I paid for it!) and I can't explain how valuable it has been in helping me understand our relationships with money and how we can better deal with money going forward in our ADHD household.
Next round starts 15 April (that's Tax day for all you Americans).

If you're in Australia and want to work with Tina you can contact her via her accounting firm, Diverse Accountants.
