Zombie High (1987) is neither about zombies nor high school. Adult children at a private academy get turned into 80s yuppies so that the staff can drink their sweet, sweet goo and live forever. There’s not a lot to discuss which is why the conversation devolves into nothing but Blacula and Supernatural talk. Enjoy!

Tales From the Crypt: Demon Knight (1995) is the first big screen version of the HBO series. It stars Billy Zane and William Sadler as warring entities in a battle to save or destroy humanity. There’s lots of goo along the way and a big heaping dose of Dick Miller.

Hard Target (1993) was director John Woo’s first American effort. Lance Henriksen is hunting men in New Orleans and Jean-Claude Van Damme gets in the middle of it. It’s a mess of a film for many different reasons, but in the end it is both silly as hell and ridiculously awesome.

Species (1995) has a top notch cast and top notch nudity and yet it’s a complete mess. Aliens send us their DNA and we decide to merge it with our own DNA to see what happens, for fun. Zero Tolerance (1994) features Robert Patrick as a straight-laced FBI man whose family is murdered by evil drug kingpin Titus Welliver. AT CHRISTMAS. He has zero tolerance for this and murders everyone in the organization. It’s a PM Entertainment joint which means lots of cars will explode.

Doctor Mordrid (1992) is Full Moon’s take on Marvel’s Doctor Strange. It even started life as a Doctor Strange movie until they lost the rights at some point. Jeffrey Combs stars as the titular doctor and doesn’t get much to do. In fact, not much happens at all in this very padded 74 minute effort.

Transylvania 6-5000 (1985) is a cult 80s comedy that Harlo and Chuck both watched for the very first time in 2020. The results are not favorable, however we both agree that Geena Davis’ costume is the best thing in the film.

The Blob (1988) is a damn good time at the movies. This remake of the 1950s classic is both faithful and surprising, and features some nifty special effects for the time. And this is how we said farewell to veteran character actor Art LaFleur who passed away this week. Ribbed.

Day of the Warrior (1996) is the penultimate entry in the Andy Sidaris-verse. It’s not exactly clear what’s going on, but there’s a bad dude (Marcus Alexander Bagwell) doing bad things and the L.E.T.H.A.L. ladies agency or whatever is out to stop them. Rock hard 90s hooters ensue.

Fortress 2: Re-Entry (2000) is an unnecessary sequel to the rather terrific 1992 film. Moonshine Country Express (1977) is how we said farewell to actor John Saxon, someone who appears to be much smarter and way more suave than his character in this allows. It’s a watchable yet highly insignificant film that you can enjoy hearing us discuss.

Dimension 5 (1966) is a James Bond wannabe about secret agent Justin Power (Jeffrey Hunter), his much more capable sidekick, time travel, and a plot to blow up Los Angeles on Christmas Day. Sounds exciting, right? Noooooooooope.

The New Barbarians (1983) aka Warriors of the Wasteland is a perfect example of why our podcast exists. Dragonheart (1996) features the voice of Sean Connery as The Last Dragon and Dennis Quaid as a dragonslayer. Naturally the two are at odds with one another but soon become friends and start grifting the villagers all across the countryside. Also there’s an evil king who must be stopped blah blah blah.

Steel Arena (1973) is the tale of daredevils in the 1970s traveling from town to town doing stunts for the people. Then they all die. What a great time at the drive-in for you and yours. The second half features your emails and voicemails as we get caught up on our backlog of correspondence. Enjoy!

Project Shadowchaser 3000 (1995) is the third installment in what’s rapidly become one of our favorite franchises ever. This time we’re in space and it’s a mix of The Terminator, Alien, Aliens, The Thing, Event Horizon and Jason X. Some of those things didn’t even exist when this was made! Gus (1976) is our first venture into Disney+’s vast library of titles, something we’ll do from time to time going forward. Universal Soldier (1992) is the first of 97 pairings of Jean-Claude Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren. It’s a somewhat underrated action film that somehow has half a dozen sequels. Also, it’s the perfect Easter movie, what with all the resurrections and such.
