Viz Launches New Mangaka Program Outside of Japan!! - BakaBites EP 138

Whenever you hear the world 'manga' you always imagine Japan, and it's obvious why! But imagine a new-age of manga where someone could think of France, Mexico, or the United States when discussing new manga and its origins. Beautiful, isn't it? Well, Viz Media would agree! Viz has launched a new program to help aspiring mangaka around the globe jump into the spotlight that has always been centered around just Japan. Viz Originals One-Shots (not an entirely creative name, but gets right to the point) is aimed at showcasing new manga creators from around the world on the Viz platform. Creating a stage this large can only spell good things for the manga world, but avoiding the mistakes that Tokyopop made when they attempted this same feat will be a challenge as well. MagicallyAverage and Frankfurtter take a look at the new program and discuss what Viz will need to look out for so they don't make those some critical errors Tokyopop made all those years ago.
