Whilst Will is still away for Comic-Con, Alex is joined by his good buddy Ben to review another Batman movie. This time around they sit down in the podcave to review 2022's THE BATMAN.

Alex and Will discuss Alan's relation to the character Charlie Collins in the episode JOKER'S FAVOR and how they came to be. Kevin shares in detail how much he loved Ra's Al Ghul as a kid, and how his dream was to bring those Denny O'Neil/Neal Adams comic books to life on screen one day. Not only did he grant his own wish and became known as the "Ra's guy" around the studio, he also went and got Denny O'Neil to write the first two Ra's episodes!

He recalls working with Bruce Timm, Paul Dini, Alan Burnett, Shirley Walker, and all of the amazing voice cast, including some lovely memories of Kevin Conroy.

Kevin also discusses directing the Two-Face episodes, including how the famous animated rain was captured in Part 2. The day that Paul Dini brought the idea of Harley Quinn into his office and why it took him so long to direct a Harley episode. His experiences creating the look and feel of the first episode, On Leather Wings, including the influences behind the batcave. How he introduced Jonah Hex into the DCAU, and so much more!

Our hosts return and attend a birthday party that starts out strong, but the third act of BE A CLOWN, really does kill the party vibe.

Alex and Will discuss how the idea of the Joker disguising himself as a clown and attending a birthday party with the intention of blowing it up, is a really strong idea, but once the party ends, so does the quality of the episode. Even with the odes to The Killing Joke and The Dark Knight Returns, this episode just doesn't light their candle.
