Continuing on with more of the Red River Campaign we start off this week with the battle of Elkin's Ferry, which was actually apart of the Camden Expedition which was designed to aid Nathaniel Banks and his quest to capture Shreveport. It took place April 3-4, 1864 in Arkansas. On April 8th the battle of Mansfield took place which the Union hope will advance them closer to Shreveport, Louisiana. We end the episode with the battle of Praire D'ane where the Union hope to join their forces of the Camden Expedition with that of the rest of the Red River Campaign to finally take down Shreveport.
