https://www.maqamat.net/challenge-pag...Today we're studying Maqam Hijaz. Whilst most people may naturally think this originated from the Hejaz region, its origins are actually Turkish.
Despite this, the most common place it's heard today is in fact in the Hejaz regions, most notably in Makkah and Madinah, as made famous by the Imams and mu'adhins who've masted this maqam and regularly display its heart-piercing melodious sounds during the salawat and the adhan.
