PDX Breweries, IPAs and Fresh Hops

This week on Beer Sessions Radio Jimmy dives into the Portland, OR brewing scene with Ben Edmunds of Breakside Brewery, Paul Reiter of Great Notion Brewing, and Jeff Alworth of The Beervana Blog. Ben and Paul share what brought them to Portland and Jeff talks about the city’s beer history. Their location gives these brewers access to the best ingredients including fresh hops and hood strawberries. They talk about their plans for brewing fresh hop beers this fall and the Strata hop that they’re excited to see entering the wider market. Plus the group talks about East Coast IPAs that inspire them as well as the local culture among brewers in Portland and how it’s bolstered by the Oregon Brewers Guild.
