When someone cuts you off in traffic or is rude to you, what is your first response? Often, we create a story in our minds as to why that person treated us poorly. We assume their intention, and all too often, we assume the worst. When faced with offense, Dr. Anita Phillips poses this question to us, “If you are going to make up a bad story, why not make up a good one instead?”
If we put ourselves in the other person’s position, what would we want them to think about us? No one wants to be judged on their worst day. Finding compassion in the midst of conflict and tension helps us become more like Jesus!
In this conversation, Laurie Crouch, Priscilla Shirer, Dr. Anita Phillips, Natalie Grant, and Hosanna Wong discuss how we can develop deeper understanding and empathy for others while maintaining healthy boundaries.
