Episode 114: The Mystery of the Holy Ghost

Ghost: Greek pneuma -

the third person of the triune God, the Holy Spirit, coequal, coeternal with the Father and the Son

sometimes referred to in a way which emphasizes his personality and character (the "Holy" Spirit)

sometimes referred to in a way which emphazises his work and power (the Spirit of "Truth")

never referred to as a depersonalized force

The Holy Spirit:

Is Truth (1 John 5:6)

Is the Comforter (John 14, 15, 16)

Teaches us (John 14:26, 1 Cor. 2:13)

Makes intercession for us (Rom. 8:26)

Helps our infirmities (Rom. 8:26)

Seal us (Eph. 1:13)

Takeaway: Knowing that the Holy Ghost does so many things for us: seals us, comforts us, bares witness we are adopted, places us in Christ, teaches us, should we not then seek to know Him as we do our Savior? Let us rejoice in the relationship we also have with God’s Holy Spirit!
