What happens to us after the moment of death?

A comment/question from one of our viewers: Some believe when you die the breath of life, (spirit) goes back to God while the body returns to dust. And we’re asleep until Jesus calls us. Some say you go to paradise or torment until judgement day. Now how can someone be in a place of torment if Judgement has not come.
