My guest this week is Fashion Director for GQ and GQ Style, costume designer, and stylist, Mobolaji Dawodu.
Mobolaji talks about the dualities of his experience growing up in Nigeria and Virginia, and how that shaped him into the person he is today. We explore everything from his joyrides in his mother’s car, to his early days grinding his way through New York City’s retail scene, while simultaneously building his career as an on-set stylist. Plus, we hear his thoughts on past projects from working with The Black Eyed Peas, Brad Pitt, Kanye West, and more. From The Fader and GQ to the Apple “silhouette” ad campaign in the 2000s, you’ve definitely seen his work, even if you didn’t know it. But you should.
