My guest this week is Icelandic designer Sruli Recht, who blends fine art, runway fashion, and industrial design.
Originally from Israel, he spent most of his early life in Australia and found his way to designing rave clothes for friends. Eventually moving to London and working for Alexander Mcqueen, and from there, well...it’s not the journey or nostalgia you’d expect.
Sruli and I discuss why his empathy made it impossible for him to be a veterinarian, switching from classic fine art to making clothes for ravers, how the greatest waste in fashion is how it treats and uses up people, and why he values information over money.
