A look at what happens on the Internet in a minute in 2020Acoustic materials made from recycled plastic bottles
GUEST
Producer Mark Plati - Part 1
Mark Plati has worked with a wide range of major artists including Prince, David Bowie, Janet Jackson, Talking Heads, Fleetwood Mac, the Bee Gees, The Cure and many others.
Mark was initiated into the New York City music scene working under the tutelage of dance music legend Arthur Baker in New York City in the late 80âs. In 1991 he began a ten-year association with minimalist composer Philip Glassâ New York City recording complex, The Looking Glass. There he produced, engineered, mixed, or performed on albums by Bowie, The Cure, Hooverphonic, Alishaâs Attic, Duncan Sheik, Dave Navarro, as well as Glass himself.
In 1996 Mark co-produced David Bowieâs Earthling album, which marked the beginning of a period where he produced, recorded, mixed, or performed on most of Bowieâs musical output until 2003, even serving a 3 year stint as Davidâs musical director on tour.
Since then heâs been working with a number of artists in Paris as well as becoming involved in musical theater.
During the interview we talked about working with Prince and Bowie, music for theater, following up on opportunities, and much more.
On the intro Iâll take a look at the amount of data that flows on the Internet in a single minute in 2020, and using recycled plastic bottles as an acoustic material.
