In this week’s Case of the Week segment, Dr. Josie shares a story about a puppy who was born with a rare condition where it was born with both female and male parts, so she details her treatment plan.  Caroline Hobby, podcast host of Get Real with Caroline Hobby, joins the podcast with her 3-month-old puppy, Ruby, to ask all of the questions as if she's at her first vet appointment with her new puppy. Dr. Josie shares advice on potty training, how much to feed your puppy, the importance of crate training, and so much more. Dr. Josie wraps up the episode with PAW & ORDER where she details things she’d never do with a puppy, including going to the dog park and feeding them adult dog food. In this episode of In The Vet’s Office, Dr. Isabella Stepanovic, a veterinarian friend of Dr. Josie joins the podcast with her Goldendoodle named Monkey. Dr. Isabella takes over this week’s Case of the Week segment, summarizing many crazy things she has seen in practice at her ER Vet clinic, including a dog with severe burns that had fallen out of the bed of its owner’s truck and had unfortunately been dragged behind the vehicle. Dr. Josie & Dr. Isabella take listener calls and give their feedback on how often to bathe your pets and explain reverse sneezing and whether it is cause for concern. They discuss in depth which vaccines your pet should definitely receive (like rabies, distemper/parvo) and which vaccines are more circumstantial. Dr. Isabella shares a story of a dog that came into her office having seizures, which is normal for her to see, but the dog didn’t respond to meds and passed away. It turned out that the dog was infected with rabies and everyone that had been in contact with the animal had to go through intense rabies treatment. They discuss zoonotic illnesses - meaning diseases that animals can pass to humans, like rabies, if they are not properly vaccinated. Dr. Josie & Dr. Isabella touch on the importance of flea, tick and heart worm treatment and dispute the myth that garlic is a home remedy for tick prevention. They wrap up the episode with PAW & ORDER where Dr. Josie details things she’d never do with her own pets including declawing cats. She and Dr. Isabella talk through how intense that procedure is and the complications that can come from it.

In this episode of In The Vet’s Office, Abby Smyers (animal rescue advocate and wife to Dan Smyers of Dan & Shay) stops by with one of her four rescue pups, Macaroni. Abby shares how she first got involved with animal rescue and how it quickly became her life’s passion. Abby opens up about her dog Joy’s recent cancer diagnosis. Joy was diagnosed with sarcoma, a soft tissue cancer, after Abby discovered a mass near her tail while out for a walk. Dr. Josie was one of Abby’s first calls and helped build out the care team that has taken are of Joy in recent months. Abby & Dr. Josie go in depth about the journey from diagnosis to how Joy is doing currently. Dan and Reid Isbell, known as The Brothers Hunt, have teamed up with iHeartPodcasts and MeatEater to launch a new weekly podcast called "God's Country." Dan and Reid Isbell are two of the top country songwriters and their podcast focuses on the intersection of country music and outdoor living. They co-wrote "The Kind of Love We Make" with Luke Combs and it was their first #1 that they co-wrote together. Dan also wrote #1 songs for Luke Combs "Better Together" and "Love You Anyway". Bobby Bones sat down with the brothers to learn more about their story. They share how when they came to Nashville, they lived in a boat trying to make it as songwriters, and recalled the moment they had their first big break. They also detail their love of duck hunting and outdoor sports and share a cool story of when Luke Combs called them, and they did MeatEater. We look back on all of Toby Keith’s appearances over the years on the Bobby Bones Show. The singer-songwriter passed peacefully on Monday night, his family shared in a statement posted on social media. Keith was diagnosed with stomach cancer in the fall of 2021. He was 62 years old. Take a listen to some great memories that include Toby’s first appearance in 2013,  the time he talked about making more money than the President in one night and his final appearance in January 2024.

Director and photographer Spidey Smith (@Spideysmith) sat down with Bobby Bones to explore his love for capturing the moment. He has directed more than 150 music videos and shot some of the most iconic album covers including Morgan Wallens Dangerous and One Thing At a Time. Spidey recalls how during a low moment in his life he got the call from Morgan Wallen to shoot his album cover, and it helped gain back his confidence. Bobby saw Jelly Roll earlier this week at the Opry and wanted to revisit his original interview. He came by in May 2022 to share his life. Jelly Roll has a very inspiring story that he loves to share in hopes of connecting with people. He comes from a middle lower class community where he was the youngest child of 4. His dad was a meat salesman for his own family company called DeFord Wholesale Meats, and his mom struggled with addiction and mental health. He spent about 12 years in and out of the jail system until he had an awakening moment sitting in his jail cell. A guard knocked on his cell door to tell him that he had a daughter. Songwriter, producer and lead singer and founding member of Better Than Ezra, Kevin Griffin (@kevinmgriffin) is now adding author to his long list of accomplishments. His first book  ‘The Greatest Song: Spark Creativity, Ignite Your Career and Transform Your Life’ is out today (April 25) and he shares with Bobby how the many ups and downs of his career inspired it. Kevin also talks about the many songs he's written like Howie Days "Collide," Train's "I Got You," and Sugarland's "Stuck Like Glue," and explains why radio stations refused to play it. He also shares how he started the band Better Than Ezra and how he made their first album for only $5,000! Sunny Sweeney stopped by Bobby's house to talk about her journey as a singer songwriter coming from Texas and trying to make it in Nashville. She talks about getting discovered on Myspace and signing her first record deal, to only be dropped from it, to three months later being nominated for an ACM Award. Sunny also discusses how she thought about quitting music until she kept receiving signs to keep going, like her most recent one of being featured in the Country Music Hall Of Fame. Martina McBride (@MartinaMcBride) recently stopped by Bobby's house to discuss her over 30-year career of being one of country music's most powerful voices, how she got her start, her passion for cooking, the secret to her 35 year marriage and explains the joke Loretta Lynn made inducting her into The Opry. Martina moved to Nashville in1990 to pursue a career in music, and since then has gotten 20 Top Ten hits and 6 number-one songs, won four CMA Female Vocalist of The Year Awards and three ACM Top Female Vocalist honors. But, success didn't always come easy.

She shares how she called around to radio stations to fight for her song "Independence Day '' and how she received resistance for it. She also shares what it was like coming from a small town in Kansas with only a population of 200, to moving to Nashville and performing in front of thousands of fans. Martina also talks about her love for cooking and what led to her releasing multiple cookbooks and reveals the secret to her 35 year marriage. She also discusses the moment Loretta Lynn inducted her into The Opry and the joke she made backstage.

Chase Rice (@ChaseRice) recently released his new album "I Hate Cowboys & All Dogs Go To Hell" and he stopped by Bobby's house to discuss his new music, mindset and answer some personal questions. Chase moved to Nashville in 2010 and almost immediately found success when he co-wrote Florida Georgia Line's hit song "Cruise." But why his early success didn't lead him where he wanted to go in his career. He talks about how for years he wasn't making the music he truly wanted to, until now with his most recent record. Chase shares how he's being more honest with his work, but at the same time, isn't fully happy with where he is in his career and what he hopes to achieve in the future. Luke Combs turns 33 today! We want to take a look back at when he stopped by the BobbyCast back in 2020. Luke was fresh off of his SNL debut when we sat down to record this. He talks about finding out he was the musical guest just a week and a half out. Luke tells the story of the guy at a record label who told him he needed to go back and write better songs after meeting him. Luke then turns all the songs he played for him that day into No. 1. Hailey Whitters (@HaileyWhitters) first single at country radio "Everything She Ain't" is climbing the charts and she stopped by Bobby's house before going on her new headlining Raised Tour. Hailey moved from a small town in Iowa to Nashville 15 years ago to pursue a career in country music but kept facing struggles. She talks about all the difficulties she had and ways she tried to make it, the jobs she had to take to survive, and the moment she got her publishing deal and first big song recorded by another artist but was still so broke she had to sleep in the airport one night. Hailey shares how she self-funded her 2020 album 'The Dream' that lead to her first breakthrough before getting her record deal. Chris Shiflett just released a new solo song “Black Top White Lines” which he recorded in Nashville and stopped by Bobby’s house while he was in town to play the Ryman as a solo artist. Chis joined the Foo Fighters as lead guitarist in 1999. He talks about how he first joined the band, the dynamic between the band in the studio and the largest crowd they’ve ever performed in front of. Chris shares how he got started playing guitar, his days playing in punk bands such as No Use for a Name, touring with the Foo Fighters, and how he got started with his solo career and writing and recording music in Nashville. Chris talks about what the transition is like from playing lead guitar in a famous rock band to being the front man on his own shows. Kameron Marlowe (@kameronmarlowe) moved to Nashville 4 years ago at 21 years old. He started out playing on Broadway in order to make ends meet. Lesly Simon is the General Manager of Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood's record labels, Pearl Records and Gwendolyn Records. She has over 25 years’ experience in the music industry that include jobs from assistant to radio promotions. She talks about her rise in the music ranks in Nashville that lead her to getting the job on Garth and Trisha’s record labels. Lesly shares that in June 2017 she was diagnosed with breast cancer just shortly after getting that new job. She talks about how she has stayed positive even after being told her cancer has returned.

She had her first major success with her song “Ex’s and Oh’s” and then had a big country  hit with Dierks Bentley on “Different for Girls”. Breland went viral in 2019 on TikTok with his song “My Truck” but his journey in music started 10 years before that. Breland sits down with Bobby to talk about how he went from studying business at Georgetown University to moving to Atlanta working as a producer with the vision of becoming an artist. Breland talks about not being taken seriously by the producer he was working with which lead to him taking trips to Nashville and getting cuts with major artists like Keith Urban and Sam Hunt. Breland shares with Bobby his vision and mission to make country music more inclusive and his response to when people question what he is doing is country or not.  His debut album, Cross Country, is set to release early summer.

She was just on The Voice where she turned all four judges’ chairs on her blind audition and ended up in second place overall – unprecedented for an artist in her 50s. Martha Earls has been Kane Brown’s manager since he was just an artist posting covers on Facebook. This was long before signing his first record deal. In addition to Kane Brown she also works with Restless Road, Nightly, Dylan Schneider and Feather. Martha talks about how she got started in music as the office receptionist at a publishing company in Nashville. She describes the road she took to get to managing her first artist that led her to founding her own management company.

He’s also a songwriter and solo artist. Bobby and Nathan talk about his approach to working with an artist and what his role is as the producer on a project.
