David Spero was one of the pioneering DJs of the then new FM format in radio, a free form limited only by the DJ's imagination. He left radio in 1973 to become the manager for Michael Stanley and would eventually go on to manage the biggest names in rock including Joe Walsh, Cat Stevens, Dickey Betts, Jesse Colin Young, Kenny Loggins, Richie Furay, Simon Kirke and Paul Rodgers of Bad Co., and many others. He's friends to as many famous rockers including Jackson Browne, Mark Farner, Al Kooper, and Harry Nilsson.
David is on the podcast to talk about his book
A Life in The Wings: My Sixty Year Love Affair with Rock and Roll: A Memoir. It’s written by David and K Adrian Zonneville
. He shares many of the amazing stories from the book including how he helped to facilitate the Eagles massive 90s reunion and his brief but colorful tenure managing Vanilla Ice!
