Mudhoney’s Steve Turner and author Adem Tepedelen are here to discuss Turner’s brand-new book
Mud Ride: A Messy Trip Through the Grunge Explosion. The book chronicles the birth and evolution of the Seattle grunge scene – from amateur skate parks and underground hardcore clubs to a worldwide phenomenon – told by one of its founding fathers and the lead guitarist of legendary alternative rock band Mudhoney.
Adem shares his experience working on the book with Steve and what the Seattle music scene was like in the early 90s. Steve has some great stories about his childhood friendship with Stone Gossard, the early days of Green River and Mudhoney, meeting Eddie Vedder, touring with Pearl Jam and Nirvana, why he declined the offer to join Nirvana in 1990, and how he created his "Super Fuzz" sound.
