Lauri Fitz Pedago and Yomi Abiola have two different stories. Lauri was Assistant Secretary of Commerce during President Clinton’s administration. Now serving as an international executive, she leads the international, education and non-profit practices providing strategic counsel to domestic and international clients. Yomi is a thought leader, journalist and social entrepreneur. As the first African face for Maybelline cosmetics Yomi cultivated expertise in the arena of beauty and empowerment. Having different backgrounds they unite over being women of color. In this interview Yomi and Lauri talk about what happened with the hope we all felt in 2009, why Lauri says she's first an African American and second a woman, and why now is the time to melt the barriers and come together to make an effort.
