British Murders with Stuart Blues
In the seventh episode of British Murders Season 5, I tell the story of John Taylor.
On November 26, 2000, John Taylor abducted 16-year-old Leanne Tiernan from Houghley Gill in Bramley, Leeds, before strangling her to death at his home.
John was initially handed two life sentences in July 2002 with a minimum term to serve of 20 years, but that was increased when several cold case reviews revealed that Leanne was not his first victim.
In February 2003, John was handed two further life sentences and a 30-year minimum after pleading guilty to the rape of two women between 1988 and 1989.
In October 2018, John was handed a whole life order after it was revealed that he had committed 16 total offences between 1977 and 1996 against five separate women and children.
