Cars that Matter is all about cars that have captured people’s hearts. They are the special cars, and they come from every decade since the dawn of the Automotive Age. They might be from the Brass Era or today’s Battery Era. They have names like 911 or SL, Corvette or Countach, or simply M. All have fueled passion in the people who created them, owned them, raced them, or sometimes—with remorse—parted with them.
From CurtCo Media.
On Cars That Matter, we talk with designers, engineers, race-car drivers, market experts, historians, restorers and collectors about the brightest luminaries in the automotive universe. What connects our guests and our audience? Like ourselves, each has a love affair with the automobile. Or maybe many. For all of us, these cars are not merely brands, like toothpaste or a pair of tennis shoes. Each one bears a marque, with a crest or ornament atop its hood. And every one of them has a fascinating story to tell.

Episode Description
We are spicing things up with Mark Jacobs, Chairman of Watkins, award-winning extracts, spices & herbs, seasoning blends, grilling rubs & marinades, artificial dye-free baking decorations, and more crafted in the USA since 1868; the company with the first ever documented money-back guarantee (talk about trusting your spices!).
Mark divulges the delicate (and sometimes dangerous) process of sourcing the finest vanilla beans in Madagascar and explains why vanilla can be so darn expensive, only sometimes. But vanilla's not all they offer! Mark shares surprising health benefits of spices, and spills the tea on how Watkins keeps their huge variety of spices bursting with flavor - including a tip to properly storing your spices at home.
Speaking of unique offerings, Watkins is now in the Bourbon business, and we learn all about the intricacies of this new exciting vertical for the brand. Mark even reveals the one spice that mysteriously eludes Watkins (and why), and shares exactly what to look for when you're on the hunt for the perfect spices.
Whether you're a spice connoisseur, a curious cook, or a foodie, this episode is packed with flavor-boosting tips and fascinating facts about food and the brand leading the way for delicious flavors. - Did you know host John was the person who introduced Harissa from Tunisia to the U.S. 15 years ago? Or that Himalayan salt comes from Pakistan? - Tune into the episode for more.

Preserving a piece of history: 'Most vehicles that sit outside unattended for four decades aren’t destined to ever move again. With excerpts of previous interviews (with Russell Hayes, Brian Howard, and Diane Parker), this special episode also features new interviews with Elaine and Bill Jenkins, children of Esau and Janie B. Jenkins, and Braeden and Collin Howard, two of the conservationists who spent the most time working on the historic vehicle.

Andy Cohen was one of our first guests on Cars That Matter. Due to these episodes sometimes being released out of chronological order, Andy’s episode was delayed. And we're very sad to say that in the time since this recording, Andy passed away.
But we here at Cars That Matter feel this episode serves as a fitting tribute to Andy and his deep passion and joy for automotive collectibles. It’s a joy I think we can all relate to.
