Notes:- Not every witness is reliable- Witnesses to the crucifixion saw differently; people use the cross but don't understand it- Roman soldiers: self-sufficient, mocked Jesus, they could not see His true power. We take what we can get but don't want to give, watching Jesus from a distance- Simon of Cyrene: wasn't looking for Jesus, mistreated, found Jesus who understood his pain.- Passers by, leading priests: listened enough to get sound bytes but not enough to get the truth.  Mocked Him with sound bytes- We need more than information-transformation- What comes from a man's mouth shows his heart- Shocked witness (roman officer)
