Scripture: Exodus 34:6-7; Psalm 77:1-10; 86:5; 145:9; James 5:11; Luke 11:11-13
Topic: God the Father
Notes:
- God's love is greater than we can comprehend- We all desire to talk to someone who listens, cares and understands- Single parents, widows... doing it alone- We’re afraid to be misunderstood if we tell of deep pains...- Asaph’s Psalm crying out to God, longing for someone to help- God hears you when you pray- The devil is attacking God’s character by placing doubt in me- Believe what God said about Himself; we feel like a hopeless case when we’ve listened to the wrong one- Counselors have as many problems as you do; only Jesus can help- Sometimes prayer seems like a dead end road... trust, persevere, keep knocking, asking and seeking and the door will open- Nobody can understand one another, even in marriage- Life does not come together because you do churchy things- Confidence must come from trusting in God, not working for Him- Story: grandson with heart defect, always sick... we all have a heart defect, susceptible to every sin, God comes in to save and pick us up
