Getting a role as a cloud engineer requires you have knowledge of networking security 03:57 First-line support roles are the entry into the cloud. Lots of organizations would consider first-time support experience over certifications for junior cloud roles. Working in either IT support or the support desk, you are already working with some tools that are in the cloud, and the transition is easier. 07:33 Build effective communication skills 09:07 Work on high-quality cloud projects If you are interested in breaking into the tech space, you need to have great interest in technology. You should be sharing person cloud projects you have been working on, this will give you an edge when speaking with hiring managers. 11:56 Developer spaces is another place you want to try out While getting a job as a cloud engineering mine prove difficult, you can work as a junior software developer. These spaces take in more entry levels than the cloud and you can gradually master your skills on the job. 15:26 Don’t go into Interview unprepared. Go online and research for interview question samples for the role you are interviewing for and rehearse them. 21:00 Find your opportunity into your first role The best way to find your opportunity in might be to take on what others are not willing to take on. You might need to agree to work night shift, work hybrid, work full time or longer hours. Finding your opportunity in might not be the most pleasurable experience but it would definitely pays off. 22:38 Wrap-up technique to use during interviews. Making the interview conversational instead of just rushing things t=during an interview shows the interviewer you are confidence. Ask questions that make interview engage in conversation with you shows of your communication skills. 26:10 Advice to beginners in the cloud career Create a process of applying for Jobs, make an extra effort to speak to the job posters if they make their contacts available; not a lot of job speakers do this. 28:47 How to make recruiters find your skills valuable A competitive advantage and a way to show recruiters your skills is constantly posting your projects on LinkedIn. 30:46 How to stand out in the cloud with no technical background. Build projects, learn programming languages, network work with job posters and build a CV that communicates your technical and soft skills. 32:27 How do recruiter select resumes There are word searches to first ensure they are selecting relevant candidates. Fayomi chats with Babar who is a senior solutions architect at a large tech company in London. He grew up in Pakistan and studied electrical engineering at a university there. After graduating, he moved to the UK to pursue a career in tech.
