We see CNC routers making beautiful things and there is a draw to see more. Then, one day, we find ourselves researching the machines and before we know it, we want to buy one.
Then we get scared and hold off for months. What is it that holds us back from our creative selves?
I think it's just because it is such new territory that is so strange to us. What worries me is how some people will hold off for years, even a lifetime, while their creative spirit calls them to create.
If you are drawn to this CNC router stuff and it doesn't go away, then your spirit is telling you it's time to CREATE.

This episode talks about the BobsCNC Evolution series routers. Routers made of wood. Yes, wood. And they perform far beyond what I ever expected.
what impressed me about the BobsCNC the most was the 'sittin' at the kitchen table' kind of feel from their business model.
Considering a CNC router but not so sure. Take a look at Bob's. I do many Youtube videos on it, as well.
Happy CNC'ing!
One of the most unusual things you can do on a CNC router is engraving. Most CNC'ers don't realize they can engrave. Glass, soft metals, acrylic, and other materials. Not hard metals. though.
My favorite is glass engraving. The type of tool you use to engrave is called a drag bit. Because it drags. The router motor or spindle is not turned on but the CNC part still does its job, moving around the project as you programmed.
This YouTube video shows it in action with amazing backlighting on glass
I did I remember to mention the tool I use is also used by NASA. The Widgetworks diamond engraver. NASA and Widgetworks...an interesting combination of names. The diamond engraver is found here if you want to look at it. The full list of links are in the YouTube video description.
The router bit starter set I spoke of for CNC router beginners can be seen here.
Happy CNC'ing!

Have you been watching others making amazing creations on CNC machines in videos lately, thinking 'I want to do that!'
It might be a CNC router, laser, plasma cutter, glass engraver, etc. They all make amazingly beautiful creations.
Maybe it's time to just dive in and go for it. I think what holds people back is the fear of learning something brand new, even though they know they have a creative spirit screaming to get out.
Take a listen to my YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/c/IDCWoodcraft, where I teach CNC for the beginner, CNC designing, and entrepreneurialism. I will give you everything I know.
Getting into the world of making things with a CNC machine is pretty amazing. It can be intimidating for some. Just putting out some money for something they don't know can be scary.
Isn't that where the magic and growth happens. Learning something new?... And with something that can earn you an income.
This podcast shares with you about the challenges, and joys, of getting into the CNC craft. Whatever CNC you choose...router, laser, mill, plasma, 3d printing, etc. They are all creative spaces.
