Cobras & Fire: Comedy / Rock Talk Show

Cobras & Fire was invited to record a podcast at the Minneapolis Bar the CC Club. The CC Club is steeped in Minnesota music history. Not only was it a regular haunt for Bakko in the early Jesus Chrysler days. But Paul Westerberg wrote the Replacements song "Here Come's A Regular" about his experiences at this bar. Bakko also interviewed former bandmates of Bob Stinson's post Replacements band in the same booth he recorded this EP with friend of the show Andy Schaal.

Faster Pussycat is an American band from Los Angeles, formed in 1985[1] by vocalist Taime Downe, guitarists Greg Steele and Brent Muscat and bassist Kelly Nickels. The group has since gone through numerous lineup changes leaving Downe as the only constant member. They broke up in 1993, but reformed in 2001. Faster Pussycat has released four studio albums to date: Faster Pussycat (1987), Wake Me When It's Over (1989), Whipped! (1992) and The Power and the Glory Hole (2006).

Often maligned for its lack of production, use of drum machines and bloat of material, LC and Bakko try to fix the record by removing some of the filler and re-sequencing the remaining killer to make this a perfect KISS album. They also get into all that led up to and immediately followed this record’s release. Last ep was side one. This week they go track by track for side two. Enjoy.

Just a little over a year ago Daryl Hall from Daryl Hall & John Oates joined the program. LC & Bakko break down the 1978 AC/DC record Powerage. Powerage is the fifth studio album by Australian hard rock band AC/DC, released in 1978. This was the band's first album to feature Cliff Williams on bass guitar, and it was also the first AC/DC album not to have a title track (aside from the Australia-only High Voltage album) and the first worldwide not to be released with a different album cover.

David Hudson joins Bakko as they break down the 2 EPs from Alice In Chains, Sap & Jar Of Flies.

Sap is the second studio EP by the American rock band Alice in Chains, released on February 4, 1992, through Columbia Records. Sap is mostly acoustic and marks the first time that guitarist Jerry Cantrell sings lead vocals in an Alice in Chains release, with the song "Brother". The EP was produced by Alice in Chains and Rick Parashar and features guest vocals by Ann Wilson of the band Heart, Chris Cornell of Soundgarden and Mark Arm of Mudhoney. The track "Got Me Wrong" became a hit two years later after being featured on the soundtrack to the 1994 film Clerks. On January 14, 1994, Sap was certified gold by the RIAA for the sale of more than 500,000 copies.

Jar of Flies is the third studio EP by the American rock band Alice in Chains, released on January 25, 1994, through Columbia Records. This is Alice in Chains' second acoustic EP, preceded by 1992's Sap, and it is the first EP in music history to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, with the first week sales exceeding 141,000 copies in the United States. The self-produced EP was written and recorded over the course of just one week at the London Bridge Studio in Seattle. The tracks "No Excuses", "I Stay Away" and "Don't Follow" were released as singles to promote the album. Jar of Flies was nominated for two Grammy Awards in 1995: Best Recording Package and Best Hard Rock Performance for "I Stay Away".

On March 29th 2023, Ace Frehley went on the Eddie Trunk show and gave Paul Stanley an ultimatum. Apologize for saying if he and fellow former member Peter Criss were in the band now, they would have to call the band PISS or Ace threatened he will come back and expose dirt on Simmons & Stanley that will end them. Referencing a 120 page unpublished manifest that contained said dirt. In a first of its kind Cobras & Fire Special Edition Bakko & LC get to the bottom of the story while the Spaceman himself calls into the show to share the dirt.

In this ep of Plus One, Bakko is joined by Vinyl Mastering Engineer from Welcome To 1979 Studios in Nashville, Josh Sebek. We get into the very basics of mastering and step it all the way through to the finished product we put on our turntables.

Josh Sebek is a mastering engineer based out of Nashville, TN. Originally from Canada, he made the move to Nashville in February 2022 from Boston, MA to find a home at Welcome to 1979.

Josh began his career in audio at Berklee College of Music where he graduated summa cum laude majoring in Music Production and Engineering with a minor in Post Production For Film and TV. During his time there he discovered a love for mastering completely by chance and never looked back. For him, mastering encompasses both the artistic and the technical side of audio in perfect harmony.

In addition to mastering, Josh is a devotee of all things analog – from tape machines to vintage gear and beyond. His love for analog led him to a deep interest in the vinyl format at a young age. As a result, he is intent on being involved in the vinyl industry from concept to turntable.
