Dr. Jonathan Abel is joined by Dr. Bill Nance to discuss US battlefields with Dr. Zach Fry, especially Civil War battlefields.  They explore what constitutes a battlefield, how battlefields are created and curated, and what meaning that process creates.  They examine the influence of battlefields and preservation on American memory, particularly of the Civil War.  Finally, Dr. Fry explains how visiting battlefields benefits his research and his students' learning.
