Hey hey everyone!
If you don't know who Shami Stovall is, you're a bit late to the Party.
Shami has been writing LitRPG for a long time now, and she's bloody good at it. Her latest book, Time marked Warlock, I have enjoyed a crapton, not to mention her earlier work, Half-Life Empire!
She was great to talk to, and we spent a lot of time talking about how Romance is formulaic, but also why there aren't more female readers and writers of LitRPG. Seriously, I think this has been one of the most insightful episodes yet.

Hey hey everyone,
Today we're interviewing Rhoden, the guy who writes Stubborn Skillgrinder Stuck in a Timeloop! It's a magnificent story that you should check out if you haven't! It's literally what it says on the tin, which is beyond refreshing.
I had a great time talking to him, too! We spoke about a bunch of stuff, like his job as a police officer, the fact that this is legit his first novel (which is still unbelievable to me), and his plans for the future!

Hey hey everyone,
welcome to this week's episode of the CritRPG Podcast!
Luke Chmilenko is an author who appears in the dictionary when you look up "prolific." He's written dozens of books in the last few years, co-authored several more, has released a comic, and manages his writing career at the same time.
He's one half of the Gestalt-brain that brought us Iron Prince, his own flagship series Ascend Online is not going into its 7th iteration, and he recently began releasing a web serial on his homepage.
...yep, he really is that impressive. And then you're reading his books and they're really good to boot!

Hey hey everyone,
This week, we're interviewing R.C. Joshua, author of Deadworld Isekai, How To Survive At the End of the World, and most recently Demon World Isekai. So it's easy to say he's a man of many worlds.
Besides talking about his writing, we also discussed his favourite techniques and what drives him to return to Royal Road again and again.
Also, no, he was not remote-controlled.
I checked.

No, let's be real, this guy is pretty damn chill, and a terrific writer to boot!

Hey hey everyone,
so this week we have a special, because Ripple System 5 is coming out in 3 days from now, and I AM SO STOKED, YOU GUYS! In honor of this release, I interviewed the one, the only, Kyle Kirrin!
We're talking about basically everything from his time using a chainsaw on a daily basis to how he enjoys life in the wilds more than in the city, but we also get some great writing advice and insights into how he came up with Frank and the way his books sustain their tension even though they're "just" VRMMORPG books. Oh and we gush about Travis Baldree a lot.
So basically, if you love Shadeslinger, this is the podcast for you!
P.S. We did have a bit of an audio issue throughout the podcast, which made it hard for me to edit this episode. So if the quality is a bit off, I'm sorry!

Hey hey everyone,
this week, we interview the person I am convinced spawned the Chad meme, Noret Flood. Not only did he write one of the most beloved litRPG Series of all time, he also finished it, the madman, at 2470+ chapters. The Legend of Randidly Ghosthound is a book that every litRPG Enthusiast should have at least tried, a surprisingly nuanced take on the System Apocalypse genre, especially in the later books.
With that being said, we did laugh a lot, and I had to cut some jokes short because we would just end up giggling for a couple of minutes, but that's Noret for you. As always, I hope you enjoyed listening to the Pod as much as I loved recording it.

Hey hey everyone,
this week, we have the one, the only, the true master of sound quality, Jeff Hays. I know I say this every week, but this has been an absolute banger of a Podcast, with laugh-out-loud moments to more somber notes throughout the middle. We discuss not only litRPG, the literary market, and our desire for quality, but also corsets, BDSM, and creamer.
Well, that last part is more of a "Patreon Material" topic, if I'm being honest, but hey, you can subscribe to that, too 😛

Hey hey everyone,
this week on the critRPG Podcast, we interview Plum Parrot, author of Victor of Tucson and Cyber Dreams! It was a great episode to record and edit, because not only did Plum have a lot to say in regards to writing, he also asked me a lot of questions about my own stuff! The result was a more conversational podcast than usual, which I was worried about at the time, but still think came out really valuable.
Let me know what you think, and as always, thanks for being here! 🙂

Hey hey everyone,
So, first off, ThinkTwice and I talked for four hours in total, about everything from Characterization to writing with disabilities, and it HAS to be one of the most informative Pods I have done to date. It's magnificent, and ThinkTwice has brought so much to this interview that I struggle to put it into words.
You can find the entire 4 hours on my Patreon, but I think this 1.5 hour interview is already amazing enough. Please enjoy, and feel free to check out the rest of the content.
If not, please like, subscribe and leave a comment! It helps me out a lot and allows me to do more of these shows 🙂

Hey hey everyone,
this week, we're on our way through all the hells in an Interview with Phil Tucker!
This one has been an absolute doozy. We were laser-focused, and got through tons of topics, from excellent writing advice (!) to Phil's most watched anime shows, and what he loves in a story!
We also get to hear more about his new Story Ideas, and about traditional Fantasy novels he's written.
This is easily one of my favorite episodes, and we talked for nearly 3 hours in total. So if you want to listen to more of us, please check out my Patreon.

That's not all he does, though, so I hope you'll enjoy listening to this episode 🙂

Hey Hey everyone!
So this week, we're going to start an experiment. Instead of just interviewing one or two Authors, I am interviewing three!|
Joining e this week are RavensDagger, Void Herald (MAxime Durand) and Haylock! In this podcast, we don't just discuss how these fine gentlemen come up with their characters, we also discuss Raven's mom, VoidHerald's internet issues, and Haylock's tattoos 😛
But mostly, we talk about books and writing, and how we can bring worlds alive for our readers. We also discuss Anime, manga, and inspirations for our book series.
Oh, and most importantly, we explore the crucial question: How Cute?
If you want to vote on the next round of questions, please consider joining the critRPG Patreon. I will do one of these round tables every week until the heat death of the universe, or until we run out of topics. 🙂 It would help me out immensely.
Last but not least, if you want to help me out in a different way, please like and subscribe! I am so close to 1K followers, which is an important milestone on YouTube! 😄

Hey hey everyone,
To send this year off in style, I have a very special guest for you. His name is Travis Baldree, and he did pretty much everything a nerd would ever want to do.
In this podcast, we're not only talking about his #1 NYT Best Selling, Award-Winning, Ass-Kicking Books, we also go deep into how video game culture has changed, why making games may break your heart, and what we can do to make litRPG and progression fantasy grow as a genre. (Also why that might seem scary, but really isn't.)
As always, there's an hour more on Patreon! For $5 a month, you get access to more than 30 hours of additional podcasts, unscripted and mostly uncut.
It's the after-dark part 😉

We spoke about so many things in this podcast it's kinda hard to sum it all up. As we discussed, we both have ADHD (and I was getting sick with Covid at the time) so this one is a RIDE.
I do distinctly remember that puns were involved, though. Lots and lots of puns. God. So many puns...
Joke aside, we talked about mental health, neurodiversity, the physical mechanics of writing, and even more fun stuff in the Patreon Material 🙂

Hey everyone,
This week, I am pleased to present Brian J Nordon, author of Quest academy! It was a super heartfelt and deep conversation that I hope you're going to like. Brian is a natural born storyteller, despite what he might say, and that extends to his amazing recount of his journey as a writer.
On a sad note, my PC switched to the wrong microphone just before recording, and I didn't notice it until after the podcast, so my own audio quality is not as good as usual. I briefly thought about redoing the podcast, but there was so much good stuff in here that I didn't want to deprive you of.
Patreons get the full show this week, and 2 hours of additional content next week!

Hey everyone,
This week, we're back on the litRPG Olympus with the one and only Shirtaloon, also known as Travis Deverell.
Yep, that's right, the guy who writes He Who Fights With Monsters and repeatedly hits rank #1 on Patreon, Kindle Unlimited, and Audible. I had an absolute blast with him on the show, and we recorded over 4 hours of content, which means I had to split it up into two episodes. Episode one releases today and includes us discussing how Travis came up with his bestseller, how he overcame his imposter syndrome (and what Will Smith had to do with it,) and his stances on Jason being Jason.
The Bonus Material includes us talking about writing tips, why Jason is an "SJW Cuck" (Travis' words, not mine!), and how to write successful Serial Fiction!

So, join us as we talk about how Seth's dad crash-landed on Earth, how Jonathan became an audiobook narrator, and how he stumbled into writing Romance Novels (yeah, I know!)
The Bonus Material is absolutely Chef's Kiss tier, too. If you want to know how it feels to run into Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos, or learn why I was in such a hurry to end this podcast on time, check it out 😉

Want to submit your story to Royal Guard?
https://royalguardpublishing.com/submissions/
I'd appreciate it if you told them this Podcast helped you make that decision! :)
------------------------------------------
Authors:
We are seeking 2 types of submissions. Finished manuscripts on Royal Road or unpublished. If you fall into this category, we need a solid pitch of the premise. Explain the who the MC is, what they are doing, and what would make a reader want to journey with them. Link to Royal Road or examples of work will be needed. If accepted, expect excellent editing, to market cover, professional audio, and marketing.
Type 2 is someone who wants to write for a guaranteed check. We do hire authors for co-writes on premises we supply or book 2/3s in a series. To qualify, you need to do custom writing samples we will give you upon your application. They won’t be super long, or used besides as a test, but expect to write custom dialogue, custom action, and to order exposition.
If either of these types of work interest you, send a quick note to submissions for further guidance/evaluation.

At Aethon Books, we’re open to all genre fiction, with a focus on Science Fiction and Fantasy. We don’t care what sub-genre you write in. Hard Sci-fi, Epic Fantasy, Space opera, LitRPG, Military SF, Alt/History, Time Travel and more, our main concern is story, story, story. We are also now open to Thrillers of all types, though with an emphasis on Action, Political, and Military Thrillers.
A compelling narrative should pull us through your world, rife with three-dimensional characters, urgency, and enough conflict to keep things interesting. Make us think, make our heart race, but never forget that the most important thing to us when it comes to fiction, is the plot itself.
We are only looking to publish novel-length work that can either stand-alone or are part of a greater series. No novellas or short story collections at this time. No poetry or plays, graphic novels, or anything else that is plainly not a prose novel.
***Aethon Books is committed to the publication of works by writers of all genders, ethnicities, color, orientation, nationalities, and religious or political beliefs. We are concerned only with the quality and commercial viability of the works submitted to us, and not on the personal backgrounds of the authors.
