Rosa is joined by Sarah Genao of Just2Good and @just2film to discuss 'Mickey 17' a 2025 science fiction black comedy film written, produced, and directed by Bong Joon Ho, based on the 2022 novel Mickey7 by Edward Ashton. The film stars Robert Pattinson in the title role, alongside Naomi Ackie, Steven Yeun, Toni Collette, and Mark Ruffalo. Set in the year 2054, the plot follows a man who joins a space colony as an "Expendable", a disposable worker who gets cloned every time he dies for research purposes. We also review 'A Penguin's Memory: A Tale of Happiness', a 1985 film directed by Shinji Kimura.

Joku & Rosa review 'Wolf Man', a 2025 American horror film directed and co-written by Leigh Whannell. A reboot of The Wolf Man franchise, the film stars Christopher Abbott, Julia Garner, and Sam Jaeger. The plot follows a family man seeking to protect his wife and daughter from a werewolf, only to become infected and slowly transform into the creature. Jason Blum produces alongside his Blumhouse Productions banner. We then discuss 'I'm Still Here' (Ainda Estou Aqui), a 2024 political biographical drama film directed by Walter Salles from a screenplay by Murilo Hauser and Heitor Lorega, based on Marcelo Rubens Paiva's 2015 memoir of the same name. It stars Fernanda Torres and Fernanda Montenegro as Eunice Paiva, a mother and activist coping with the forced disappearance of her husband, the dissident politician Rubens Paiva (Selton Mello), during the military dictatorship in Brazil. Lastly, we talk 'Bulworth', a 1998 American political satire black comedy film co-written, co-produced, directed by, and starring Warren Beatty. It co-stars Halle Berry, Oliver Platt, Don Cheadle, Paul Sorvino, Jack Warden, and Isaiah Washington. The film follows the title character, California Senator Jay Billington Bulworth (Beatty), as he runs for re-election while trying to avoid a hired assassin.

It stars Adrien Brody as a Hungarian-Jewish Holocaust survivor who immigrates to the United States, where he struggles to achieve the American Dream until a wealthy client changes his life. We also review 'Conclave', a 2024 political thriller film directed by Edward Berger, focusing on the secretive process of electing a new pope after the death of the previous one. The film features a cast including Ralph Fiennes and Stanley Tucci, and it explores the intrigue and scandals among the cardinals involved in the election process. Lastly we review 'Hard Boiled', a 1992 Hong Kong action thriller film directed by John Woo from a screenplay by Gordon Chan and Barry Wong based on a story written by Woo. The film stars Chow Yun-fat, Tony Leung Chiu-wai, and Anthony Wong.

It stars the voices of Sarah Snook, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Eric Bana, Magda Szubanski, Dominique Pinon, Tony Armstrong, Paul Capsis, Nick Cave, and Jacki Weaver. Lastly, we review 'The Wages of Fear' a 1953 thriller film directed and co-written by Henri-Georges Clouzot, and starring Yves Montand, Charles Vanel, Peter van Eyck and Véra Clouzot. The film centres on a group of four down-on-their-luck European men who are hired by an American oil company to drive two trucks over mountain dirt roads, loaded with nitroglycerin needed to extinguish an oil well fire.

Rosa and Joku review and analyze 'Queer' a 2024 romantic drama film directed by Luca Guadagnino, based on the novella by William S. Burroughs, set in 1950s Mexico City. It follows an American expatriate, played by Daniel Craig, who becomes infatuated with a younger man, exploring themes of desire and loneliness. We also review and analyze 'Balladonna of Sadness' a 1973 Japanese animated surrealist art film produced by the animation studio Mushi Production and distributed by Nippon Herald Films. It follows the story of Jeanne, a peasant woman who makes a faustian deal with the devil after she is assaulted by the local nobility on the night of her wedding day.
