Tracy interviews her new dance friend Cambrey White! Cambrey grew up in Redondo Beach and enjoyed learning jazz dance and musical theater through the local community center, as well as competing and performing with them! She eventually started driving to Hollywood to take class at Edge when she could, and she studied dance at UC Irvine, despite not making it into the program the first time she auditioned. It was Cambrey's dream to dance on Broadway, but her strong aversion to risk led her to getting a degree in psychology instead. But as she moved forward in that direction, dance seemed to pursue HER because she kept getting dance jobs - executive assisting at a ballroom studio and teaching musical theater and hip hop to kids. She eventually moved to Hawaii with her husband (sort of on a whim) and ended up dancing and choreographing for the Aloha Theater. She then moved back to LA to start a family and pursue musical theater. But with the pandemic, her pregnancy, and her baby being diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis, her performing pursuits got put on hold. Listen or watch to find out how Cambrey got through this season of no dance and what life looks like for her now. Cambrey's Dance Journey is not over! :)
Tracy and Cambrey also take Christian Espinel's contemporary class at The C Spot in Culver City and discuss their thoughts after.
