Onboarding is an essential part of the employee experience and, when implemented well, it can be an accelerator for business value and impact on the individual. World Bank Group is one of the largest sources of funding and knowledge for developing countries and, with more than 1,000 new hires a year to the organization, it has a relentless focus on the new hire experience through onboarding and inboarding.
Nancy Goebel sits down with Ghislaine Baghdadi from The World Bank to learn about its nine-step onboarding programme and hear how the activities, events and elements of the programme are critical to giving new hires a sense of commitment to their organization within the first six months of joining the organization, as well as enhancing their engagement at work.
Ghislaine introduces the concept of ‘inboarding’, an extension of the onboarding programme that is implemented at the unit-level for employees, and explains its impact on employee retention.
Listen to hear practical guidance on how you can provide a mind-blowing onboarding and inboarding experience to your employees and about the role digital platforms play in facilitating the success of such programmes.
