On this episode of Éirevision, Conor and Lou continue to react to the latest batch of songs added to the Eurovision class of 2024. Over the last week, four countries selected their representatives for Eurovision 2024: Poland, Belgium, San Marino, and Croatia.
We kicked off the week with two new entries as Poland and Belgium released their songs. Both countries decided to internally select their artist/song. On Monday, Poland revealed Luna as their representative with the song, "The Tower". The song was written in collaboration with Fyfe and Max Cooke, specifically for the Eurovision Song Contest.
In August 2023, Belgium announced Mustii as their representative and now, we've finally got his entry! On Tuesday, his song "Before the Party's Over" was unveiled. The song is composed by Mustii himself with Benoit Leclerq and Pierre Dumoulin. Dumoulin was also behind Belgium’s Eurovision entries in 2017 (“City Lights”) and 2019 (“Wake Up”).
On Saturday night, San Marino's national final Una Voce per San Marino took place with sixteen acts battling it out in the final for the golden ticket to Malmö. It was Spain's Megara who we saw compete in Benidorm Fest 2023 take home the top price. The jury chose the Spanish band and their song, "11:11".
Finally, Sunday night saw the conclusion of Croatia's national final - Dora 2024. Sixteen made it to this final stage, including last years winners Let3. However, it was Baby Lasanga who emerged victorious and won the honour of waving the Croatian flag at Eurovision this May. Baby Lasanga will represent Croatia with the song, "Rim Tim Tagi Dim”.
