Richard X and Martyn met when he requested permission to put out a compilation of pre Human League/Future demos, which Martyn named The Golden Hour of the Future for his label Black Melody. Since then he has become a highly successful and innovative producer for artists like Erasure, MIA, Rachel Stevens, Roisin Murphy, St Etienne, Goldfrapp, amongst many others.
